Disney package vs separate bookings?

Hello,

We are looking at Homewood Suites at flamingo crossing and it seems like booking through Disney via a package deal is 500 dollars cheaper than booking the hotel and tickets separately. Does this make sense or are there hidden fees when booking through Disney?

Double check the numbers from both approaches to make sure they all include taxes, just to make sure you are comparing apples to apples.

Yeah that's why im asking because the Disney website doesn't list taxes or fees with the package. Just says the total price, but lists it as subtotal. But then it says 200 is due now and the rest is due a month before travel so that makes me think it's the total price...?

It's hard to compare prices without an itemized list of what costs what, but it seems like a good deal. Just don't want to book it and then get bombarded by taxes and/or fees (although, I believe the flamingo crossing hotels don't have fees...)

Wow, good find. I was curious and checked for a 2 night stay in February and the price was almost $400 cheaper booking direct through Disney as a room/ticket package over direct through Hilton and tickets separate from Disney. I made sure everything lined up and taxes were included.

I may have some trips later that are not fully WDW so staying offsite would be great, especially if I only have to buy a 2 day ticket, which would probably be what I wanted.

Yeah it just seems like way better deals. We ended up booking the Drury plaza in April in hopes it will open, and if not, we'll switch to the Homewood suites at flamingo crossing. The Drury plaza is somehow cheaper than the Homewood suites (minus parking fees) so that seems like an amazing deal, and the package through Disney is a good 400-500 dollars cheaper than booking separately. I never realized that there was an advantage to book the travel package through Disney, but that's a fairly big savings

I hadn't either and bonus should be able to use Disney Gift Cards to pay if through WDW. Great for when I find good deals on Disney Gift Cards or can get bonus fuel points for gas savings.

I'm puzzled/curious; how do you book non-Disney hotels through Disney?
