I was wondering if the outlets are really worth the trip? Are the items truly cheaper, so many times I find that oulets are not. If so which one is the best and what is the general location it is in. Thanks.

Sometimes, I mean its very hit or miss. It just depends on what they have to put out on the day you go. I'd purchased really cool stuff for nieces before and I've also gone and seen nothing. If its way out of your way I wouldn't make the trip. If you have a car and have some time to waste go for it there are other shops in outlet that may make it worth your trip.

Personally, no outlet mall is worth my precious vacation time. I figure, I can shop anywhere but there is only one Disney World!

We found a lot of great bargains at several of the Disney outlet stores when we went. We plan on hitting them up again when we go down in June. We do it on our check out day before we head home so we don't lose vacation time.

I agree that it is hit or miss. Last year I was ready to spend and found absolutely nothing. The year before, we found a ton we wanted.

Its one of those things where you can't go in there looking for one specific thing, you just have to be pleasantly surprised with what you can find. We went in the spring to the one on Vineland (Orlando Premium Outlets) and all we ended up getting was a couple of marked down character cars (Mickey Racers?) for my son.

Is the stuff in that store overstock from actual stores inside Disney World?

Or is it the usual ubiquitous "Disney and Mickey" stuff with a Florida theme like they have in the Walmarts down there. :confused3

I'm pretty sure everything at the Character Outlet is from the stores in Disney. I have gotten a lot of nice stuff at very reasonable prices. Almost always (at least one day when we are not doing parks) take a trip over in the morning to see what they have. Parking lot is insane later in the day.

I had no idea there were outlet stores. Can anyone tell me where to find them? tia

How do I get the html off my post?

Like any outlet it's hit or miss.

I got a great zipperd fleece hooded jacket for $20. It's very warm and I really like it. But that's all I got. I wasn't really into all the dust collecter items but there were a lot of those.

My parent's both got shirts for under 10 bucks each.

We went in Jan 2009 and there were a lot of items with 2008 on them. But if you don't really care about that they had great prices.

I was at the one over by Universal, can't remember. I actually went for the Coach Outlet. Didn't find anything there, in fact was underwelmed by the selection.

So I went home with my Jacket and some socks from the LB outlet. Lover thier bamboo socks. LOL But I totally love just milling at the outlets so I didn't consider it a wasted day.

We just returned home yesterday from Disney and made a trip to the Character Outlet. I agree that its not good to go looking for something specific. 4 of my 5 kids found something there they wanted. My DD(3) found a Stuffed Belle doll she loves. It had a price on it of $25 and I paid $10. My older sons found T-shirts for $5.99 and they were shirts you would find in the parks. I think its worth it but I love to browse around and see what they have. Others may disagree.

IMHO WDW trip isn't the same without a trip to the Outlet! We have tried a couple and the character outlet Alakapolka- Vineland is the best! We usually go at least twice on a trip. I always bring back each of my daycare kids a t- shirt; the prices at the outlet make this affordable! My kids love to take their gift card along and spend it there!

Absolutely worth it. I don't spend any of my precious time on buses so we always rent a car and one thing we do is zip over to the Disney outlet. We often do this after leaving one of the parks around lunch time. We always go to the one near the crossroads just a couple of miles past DtD. It is an official Disney outlet and is staffed by Disney CMs. It's on the other side of the food court. We were there twice last week. I got some winter stuff like thermal long sleeve shirts that were 34.99 in WDW just last month and are only 9.99 at the outlet. Also got 3 teeshirts (one organic one, one kermit with a disney phrase about happiness is a state of mind, and one red/white/blue mickey one). They were 5.99 each. Got the grandgirls a small princess bag, regularly 18.99 and on sale for 5.99. They had lots of collectibles, holidays stuff and lots of winter sweatshirts. We never leave empty handed here and the stuff goes quickly. We got the dress up sets for the Minnie Mouse that you can change her outfits. The outfits were 5.99 and going fast. It takes me about 15 minutes to drive up and back and about 30 minutes at the store, so I can spare one hour of my precious vacation times saving a ton of money. Heck there are people who spend way more time than I do just waiting for buses!

We go to the one that is in the big outlet mall off of Rt.4, on Vineland Road (?), about 1/2 mile from the crossroads. You turn left at the light when you see the Vineland Road sign and it's about 2 miles straight ahead. Very easy to find. We only go to the Disney outlet and when we're done there is a publix across the street, so a good time to stop for water or refreshments before heading back to the room for a nap.

It is actually the stuff from WDW. The store is run and owned by WDW and they are real Disney CMs. They take Disney gift cards and rewards cards too. You'll find a little bit of everything from resort, park, ride, WWOS, ESPN, holiday merchandise.

I forgot what the name of this place is called but they sell stuff from WDW props or resort furniture. Does anyone this place that i'm talking about? They had a website but forgot to save it :(

We were there a few weeks ago and I got pins for .49 and lanyards for .99!!! We stocked up and surprised our 3 nephews and neice! They were so excited and enjoyed trading very much!! It was worth the couple of dollars we were able to spend on each of them (less than 1 pin at the parks) -they went so fast though, we went back 2 days later for more and the cast member told me someone had purchased over 300 of the pins and wiped them out!! BUMMER!!! I have also found tshirts and toys and stuff - you just gotta have fun looking around!!:thumbsup2

It is hit or miss, the one at the Lake Buena Vista outlet mall is usually pretty cruddy. But the one at the end of International Drive is usually pretty good. We were up in Orlando this weekend and stopped by there. For $13 I got a Yoda shirt for me, a gforce toy, a minnie dressed up like queen amadala, a goofy sound toy, 2 narnia books, a rockin roller coaster antenna topper, and some Epcot notecards.

This is the one we visited in December. Found some cute stuff. My daugther bought a cute dress which we saw later in the week on the Magic for much more money.
