I thought I saw somewhwere that there is a Disney outlet store near Disney World. Is this true and if so how far is it from the Fort? Thanks.

We went to the Premium Outlets and it was about 15 min. from FW. RT 4 (E) to Exit 68 (I think it was either the first or second exit). Cross 535 onto Vineland. It's down on the right. There's also a wonderful Golden Corral on the left just as you cross 535...had a great Father's Day Brunch when we were there. I know there's another one, but I don't know where that one is. We got a few clearance t-shirts for very cheap. I was looking for 2008 Year of a Million Dreams and they had one really, really cheap. It's a very nice outlet mall with an indoor parking deck.

Is this outlet mall rig-friendly if we stopped on our way in or out of WDW? We have a motorhome and would be pulling our golf cart on a trailer.

There must be outdoor parking that you would fit into...it's a very big area, but you won't fit in the parking garage. The Disney Outlet is right in the middle of the mall by the food court.

There is also a pretty nice Disney Outlet store in this mall:

I typically avoid all malls, but the DD's wanted to visit this one on a recent visit to go to a specific store that we don't have in our area (American Apparel to be exact-where you can pay $40 for a t-shirt that is of inferior quality to a good old Hane's t-shirt). I checked out the Disney Store out of curiosity, and found a lot of interesting, and very discounted merchandise. For example, they had a ton of Disney Cruise Line t-shirts, including those that are normally only sold on Castaway Cay, for less than half-price. These were nice quality t-shirts, but they must have been discontinued. There were also shirts from a lot of the WDW resorts, and shirts from the parks that were dated 2008, and that type of thing.

I did not see anything there from Ft. Wilderness, but I would not be surprised if some of the Fort themed items that are being phased out end up there.

The one next to I4 on vineland has RV and bus parking. It is on the left right in front of the parking deck. You will need to take the road past the Golden Corral and go parallel to I4. IMO, that outlet has the best bargains and selection, followed by the one out by Bass Pro Shops at the end of IDrive, then the one on 535 in the back of the outlet stores. The last one is not owned by Disney and has the oldest selection of stuff. You can find bargains at all of them, but you have to look and hunt.

They do have Fort stuff, but it is few and far between. I have found youth sweatshirts there and bought several sizes at a time. My son is now just growing into them.

I heard there are flea markets that sell Disney merchandise cheap too, is that true? Is it better to go to the outlets or the flea markets?

Thanks,

Susan

IMO if you're looking specifically for licensed Disney merch, the Character Premier outlets are the way to go.

We hit both last December and got a TON of great stuff super cheap. It's hit or miss, like most outlets, but it also seems that towards the end of the year they're clearing things out big time. When we were there they were having a big sale as well, with additional % off lots of things. I got a heavy '08 embroidered zip hoodie that sold in the parks for around $75+ for $24. :thumbsup2
