I'm excited, when I was walking around Grapevine Mills this weekend and saw they're opening a Disney Store Outlet! :cool1:

Anyway, I was wondering since the buy out of the stores are the Outlet stores TCP owned (and will carry their stuff now) or do they carry stuff from disneystore.com?

Thanks!!

Aw, man. Now what'd you have to go and do that for. You should never have told me this information!!!

But, how cool is that! I didn't know one was going in there. Can't wait! :cool1:

ETA: I have no idea where the stuff will come from. I hope it's like the one near WDW in FL, rather than like the one in San Marcos, TX.

Hard to say on the Grapevine Mills website it looks like a regular Disney Store. Guess we'll have to go by sometime to check it out. They are using the Disney Store logo and there is a Children's Place outlet there so it could be an CP outlet.

I'd love to have a Disney Catalog / Web outlet closer, one of these days I'll make it to the one in San Marcos.

We had a "Disney Outlet" in our outlet mall a few years back. It was a temporary thing ... don't think it was there for more than 3 months or so. I was v. disappointed in it as it carried mainly "Disneyland California Adventure" logo things. Mugs, license plate holders, blankets, leather bomber jackets, photo frames, towels, t-shirts, etc. No WDW mdse. at all!!!! And, I felt that the prices were rather pricey. Certainly not as good as some of the bargains we've picked up at the "Character Outlets" near WDW. The only decent bargain we could find were on pins, so we stocked up on those at the time.

I hope that your "Disney Outlet" is far better than the one we had!!!!

The one in San Marcos is TCP run. My old store would send stuff there on a regular basis.

That same kind of store was at the Mills a couple years too. TONS of DCA stuff.

I remember the San Marcos store used to carry the catalog stuff so I guess this means the outlets are TCP ran now.

Come to think of it - the store at the Mills is going in the old TCP spot (before they opened their huge store last month) so that would make sense it's their store.

I heard the rumor that a Disneystore outlet would be opening in Kittery, Maine. The Disney Store in Portland, Maine said they heard the rumor, too.

I hope it gets here b/f we go to see The Mouse... I'd love to stock up on inexpensive goodies!

The Disney Store outlets are TCP owned and carry the same merchandise as the "regular" The Disney Stores. Some stores in the outlet's district will ship all of their clearance to the outlet, but some won't. The outlet will have regular merchandise and a bunch of clearanced merchandise from some of the other nearby stores. But it won't have anything that the regular stores didn't carry at some point.

If that's true, LadyRedd, how terribly disappointing. :(

It's true. I worked for The Disney Store when they were bought out and our local Catalog Outlet became a The Disney Store outlet and our store was one of the ones in the District that sent their clearance to them.

Disney Store Outlet will only carry merchandise from The Disney Store, they will also have the new items that you see in stores at regular price but will recieve fewer of them than regular stores.

We are opening that store next Saturday, October 7th (if thats Saturday). There should be some awesome stuff going on for opening day.

Disneyshopping.com has its own online outlet at Disneyoutlet.com where all catalogue merchandise goes.

Happy Shopping! The store is going to be a great new design that we don't have in the DFW area yet. Looks a lot like a store you would see at the Theme Parks.

Is the store in San Marcos still open? I went by the other day and it looked like it was closed. Opening one at Grapevine Mills would be great. I live in Keller (near Grapevine) but I work in San Antonio (near San Marcos)

I thought the one in San Marcos was still a catalog outlet. I guess I don't need to worry about making it there. It will be nice to have the outlet at Grapevine Mills hopefully they'll have some good deals, they don't have much for adults and teens so I just pick up things for gifts etc usually. I really like Disney housewares & collectibles and find most of that online.

Unfortunately all of the Catalog Outlets closed.
