This isn't a easy question as I thought it would be. We are going to book our vacation tomorrow. I have been after hubby to redo all my floors, carpet, hardwood and ceramics. Anyways "I" came up with the idea to no go to Disney this year and redo the floors. Which would you pick. We were just there in Oct 2003 so it isn't ages since we have been but the kids are getting older and I am not sure how many more years they will want to go?????

HELP!!!

I would pick flooring. But that's just me. We live in a house that was built in 1978 and I still haven't changed the 70's gold ceramic tiles in the entry way. And, I need new carpet downstairs.

How bad are oyur floors? I mean, if they are totsally awful and disgusting, with oles, and worn spots etc, then I'd probably pick flooring.

However, if they are just not quite y taste, but are still in pretty good shape, I'd pick Disney.

I lived with the ugliest kitchen floor in the universe for quite a few years because it was in good shape and I couldn't see the point in tearing it out because it was ugly. When it finally started to get worn and cracked-looking is when we replaced it.

That is a toughie.... my house needs a make-over also, but I chose to go to WDW because of the reason you mentioned. I don't know how old your kids are by my oldest DS is 17 this summer, and I don't know if he will want to vacation with mom and dad after he is 18 :( I also have a 14 yo DS, he still has a couple good years left ;) but I still want to have a nice family vacation with all of us and I want it to be at WDW!

I have wood flooring that is great in part of the house but the rest is covered by some cheapo, bland carpeting. I'd have to replace that carpeting and put tile in the bathrooms so I pick flooring.

Flooring. We have four kids, ages 25, 22, 20, and 18. They'd still rather go to Disney than do anything else, so if we take a year off here and there -- there will be other trips. I think the kids will go to WDW with us after they have kids of their own :p ...

I want to add that when I got my bonus this year most of it went straight to Disney and the floors didn't even come to mind! :p

flooring~ especially since you were just there in October.

Disney... but flooring is nice too... but Disney's better... but flooring would be pretty... but ... but...

DISNEY!

I, too, would pick the flooring, then save up like mad to go to Disney ASAP! :)

As much as I love Disney If I had to choose I think it'd be disney, I mean floors! OOPs! Freudian slip!

Disney. The kids will just mess up your new floors. Besides your Disney memories will last a lifetime. THe floors will have to be replaced again.
Life is too short and no one is promised another day. I'd go to Disney.

we had that issue at my house this year. Everyone (my kids and dh) wanted to go to disney again this year but we needed a new retaining wall/ patio. I also wanted to redo my kitchen but that might have to wait. We were ther just last summer so i told them that we could go next summer and i pick our retaining wall. So, with that being said I would pick.....

FLOORING!!!!!!!!!

Pam

practical homerepair guru froiggy says,,, disney:) agrees kids jkust tend to muss up flooring anyway:) this was much easier than myu choice i had to choose eye lids vs disney,, still thinking disney woulda beenbetter choice:)

Keep my husband and all other floor mechanics in business. Look at it this way, the new floors will last 5 years (if you get cheap carpet) to 50 years or more (ceramic, high quality hardwoods). They will increase the value of your home. If your kids decide that they no loner wish to go to WDW when they are older, you can go with out them. When it come time to retire, sell, and take the grandkids on vacation, just think of the equity you will have, made even nicer with beautiful floors.

Give it a couple of years, that will be back in style! Look how the 60's retro is back big time! :teeth:
