We are going to be watching Disney on Ice: Celebrations this coming Saturday. We went to Disney on Ice last year, but I do not remember the costs of the concessions and trinkets. I figured that the prices have changed somewhat in the last year. If you went recently, what were the prices for popcorn, cotton candy, drinks, light-up toys? We will probably get the souvenir version of the popcorn and cotton candy. My kids still wear the hats they got last year, so I am sure that they will want this year's version too. I want to make sure that I bring enough cash for all of this stuff.

If i remember correctly, the prices started at around $10 for cotton candy-more for the snowcones in a cup. I don't remember the Disney on Ice people selling popcorn though-just the concession stand at the arena. It's very expensive!

I'm thinking around $20 for just popcorn and a drink? I remember being appalled at the prices even though I had expected them to be high.

Unless something has changed in the last few years, the concession prices are set by the venue not by Disney. In high school & college I worked at a venue that hosted Disney on Ice, and our prices were the same for that as for any other event. So while souvenir prices are probably consistant because they're affiliated with the show, the prices on food & drink are likely to vary a little from place to place.

We just saw Nemo On Ice last Friday (awesome) and the cotton candy with the hat (clown fish) was 10 bucks. I myself got a very large bucket of popcorn for 3.50 (I didn't think that was bad and better than the movies) and our drink was 3.00. Have fun!!!!

We went to Disney on Ice a few weeks ago. We got the cotton candy that came w/ the mouse ears hat & a party blower...it was $12!!! I was shocked...expected $8 or so. LOL Boy, was I wrong!! Kids each got a t-shirt for $15 (I think) also.

We went to Celebrations about a month ago and the cotton candy with the clown fish hat was $10. The light up toy was $18.

Drinks and Dippin Dots were about $5 each, not too bad. But if your kid catches sight of the snow cones in the Stitch cup, plunk down your $12! T shirts were $20, pretty much every souvenir was the better part of $20 or change.

I was kind of surprised by the concession prices. Guess I was naive!

That is very rare. I have been to several shows in different cities and they are not allowed to sell their normal concessions....it is all Disney stuff and the prices are outrageous!!

Cotton Candy at the DOI Celebrations was $12. Came with a lame hat. We went with my dd's Brownie troup, so the girls shared 2 bags, and no one missed the hat.

good luck.

I won't let the kids get any sort of souveniers to any show like that. Way too expensive. We will usually get cotton candy or something like that.

Thanks for the replies! :thumbsup2

I think I am going to budget the following:
$20 - lightup toy
$15 - snack (cotton candy w/hat)
$5 - drink

I had $200 in mind for the whole day, so by the time I figure in gas and lunch out, we might stay under $200.

Yes the stuff is very pricey, I always try and buy something that will continue to be used at home. Last show we went to we got the snow cone cup (DD is diabetic and snow cones are way too much sugar so we asked very nicely if it could be filled with Diet coke and they were happy to help us out) She really wanted the cup, it is now her favorite ice cream bowl and she has been using it for 2 years.

We are taking our DD 8 to see Disney on Ice Princess Classics next month, and I was wondering if they sell shirts and if so, how much are they? I may have missed something about the cotton candy does it come with a hat or toy? How much are the princess dolls? Just wondering how much i should budget. Thanks

Isnt it crazy how much that stuff costs! We have seen princesses and Monsters inc, we are going to Nemo next month. Dd and I have a deal with these things, which is easier because she is older.... She gets $10, she can spend it there or take it home for her Disney trip. The first year she bought a snow cone in a Cinderella cup, last year nothing and I would be surprised if she bought anything this year.

I guess I am too cheap but I sit behind some families doing the math in my head and feel faint! 4 kids, drinks, popcorn, cotton candy and a light up each. But maybe that is their only thing they do and it is none of my business, but wow!

We went last year and I do remember the drinks/snacks being expensive. I do recall a kids "meal deal" type thing that was not too expensive: hot dog/juice box and chips. I think my daughter and I discussed that we should have ordered one of those for our selves because it was alot cheaper than the drink and nachos we each got.

We're going to see Disney on Ice:100 Years of Magic this month. :thumbsup2We're going opening night because all seats are $10. Still, the total after service charges is $62.

We buy the light up toys before going into the arena. They aren't Disney but they also aren't 3x the price! We always do this. In the years we've been going to shows, we've only had a problem with them once and the guy replaced the item no questions asked.

On the other hand, the last time I bought a Disney item in the arena, it was a $20 Belle doll that look like it cost $2 to make. Her head fell off the day after the show. Cheap piece of crap. Now, I'm always careful about what I buy because the items in the arena are not always "Disney" items.
