New Quarterly Publication, Web Site, Fan Events and Collectibles Line

Disney's worst kept secret is now out. The "Are You 23" promotion was indeed for a new fan club, annual membership of which will cost $74.99.

So, who's joining?

Well I decided to go for it - no not the pen, membership. Just ordered mine now plus the pins.

Did you pay for shipping to the UK? I looked at the membership but shipping was just under $58!! I've joined but had the info sent to my Aunt's house in the States.

I did but the way I look at it that covers delivery of the 4 magazines, whatever the collectible is and the membership cerificate, all of which will hopefully be in sturdy packaging.

I read an article about the magazine you get and it's more like a hard covered book, bit like the DVC brochure, perfect for sitting on your coffee table

I just thought $58 was a bit overpriced. Can't see why they couldn't have their office in London send out any bits and pieces to save money. DVC send out stuff via DHL which, again, must save them lots with the number of members in Europe.

Anyway, hopefully it'll be worth it.

True. To be honest with me and this sort of thing it's also a case of bragging rights - "I've been a member since Day 1" kind of thing.

I'm certainly interested in joining as like most fans, they want to be part of the club but i'm weighing up whether it's worth it for UK folks.

I won't pay the $58 shipping to start with so my initial 1st year membership would start when i go work at WDW in July.

Have they said whether you can join and buy the exclusive merchandise at the parks?

My biggest gripe is that i probably won't be able to go to the Expo in California

Nothing on the corporate site announcement that I can see, it only says you can join at the parks.

OK Thanks, i'll hold off till i go to WDW as may get lucky and get cast member discount on the merchandise (doubt it though being an exclusive fan club)

Certainly looks good anyway and there seems like a lot of perks for $75 a year

I've just had a look and if you buy the magazine on its own they won't ship internationally.
