No, the service charge and tax only apply to certain things. I think you mentioned you have the PassPorter — if you plug your numbers into the interactive budget in Chapter 9, it will calculate tax and service charge on all the appropriate things. There's also a a chart of what gets what on page 53.

Got a 9am ceremony so without a cocktail hour we should be eating by 10am and finished by 1pm? With a buffet that serves for an hour that will leave 2 hours for dancing and partying. Decisions decisions decisions. We have a planning session in a little over a month.

Yes - we actually shortened our brunch to 3 hours before they even had this option.

For our 9am ceremony the prereception didn't start til 10:30ish or 10:45ish, but we took photos with all our guests after the ceremony. Our reception ended at 2pm.

With a buffet that serves for an hour that will leave 2 hours for dancing and partying. Decisions decisions decisions. We have a planning session in a little over a month.

The planners have been telling folks these shorter receptions aren't really compatible with a heavily dance-focused reception, but they don't prohibit them. We only did first dances.

We have 90 people on the list and even if the traditional 30% do not make it I think we are going to have a fairly large group. It may take the Bride and Groom more than 2 hours just to make the rounds. We are now trying to figure out if we should do pictures before or after the ceremony. I think they have decided on a first look so pictures before would be okay. I am just the mother of the Bride and I am going crazy, can't imagine what my daughter is going through. At least we both know in the end it will be exactly what she wanted.

No. Disneyland just has the escape package that includes a 4 hour reception with a plated meal or a wishes wedding with overall minimums based on the day of the week/whether or not you want a room block and within the overall event minimum, a food and beverage minimum based the number of people and whether you're serving lunch or dinner. There is no special wishes package at this time with a lower price point based on a lower guest count and time of day/day of week for the wedding. For wishes at Disneyland there is just a set event minimum based on the day of week still once you're over the guest count for an escape wedding.

Where are most of the guests traveling from? For a destination wedding you may only get a 50%-60% response rate. Doing a first look is a great way for them to gain more time with their guests, plus it is soooooo romantic!

Hey guys! got a sub question regarding this package. I know (well I think I know) that $4000 is due at booking for this option, correct?

Now my question is, would that be at the 12 month mark when you secure your actual date or is that due at the 15 month mark when you can start working with the planner etc? I'm still a little confused on the time line....

It's not a separate package, it's just a cheaper rate for having a Wishes event on certain days of the week and times of day, plus dropping an hour from your reception. The Wishes deposit is due when you sign your contract at the 12-month mark, not when you first start working with a sales consultant at the 16-month mark. They have to get you set up with a room block first.

Thanks Carrie! Sorry I worded my post funky, I know this is just a smaller scale, more affordable option of wishes. Just couldn't remember when the deposit is due, my mind was telling me at the 12 month mark but I always second guess, thanks so much for clarifying!

Yes, because it is a Wishes wedding, not a separate thing. The only difference is that the price is lower if you drop an hour and have brunch/lunch on Tues-Thurs.

I just got engaged last week in front of the castle and already planning my wedding. Were thinking mid June, 2017 with about 65 guests, will this package still be available then? We were planning a weird day anyway, and a breakfast/brunch reception so that it kept the costs down, and this would help so so much. Planning to buy the passporter book this weekend too!

These are just discounts on the standard Wishes Collection offering. Disney can change pretty much anything at any time. Wishes will probably still be around, but it's anybody's guess whether these discounts will continue. In the past they disappeared when business picked up. Fortunately, you will be able to start working with Disney in February 2016, so if the discount is still available when you sign your contract, it'll be locked in.

Ahh that's exciting! Man or man I hope this is still available when we can start planning. I wish my brother wasn't getting married first lol but I'll be the nice big sister and let 2016 be his and wait till 2017. More time to save anyway.
