Disney+ Offer?

I have been trying to get Costco travel to work with me two days now. They keep quoting what their supervisor told them. They want me to cancel and rebook. NO. They don't want to call DCL because they can't get through/the wait time is to long. They have told me my cruise isn't part of it because the blackout period is Jan 1 to March 31. NO, that is wrong. They have even told me my ship isn't in the offer. It's the Fantasy, yes it is.
Never had issues with Costco travel before but it seems that they have a ton of new agents who keep having to refer to their supervisor and the supervisor has no idea what the program is. I think this will be a last time with them.
I have resigned myself to not getting this offer but that's okay. We are going on a DCL cruise with the entire family so I'm happy.
My Costco travel agent this morning told me they received an e-mail with a Form to complete for the offer. He said they were submitting it to Disney so perhaps they are getting the promotion connected... I hope. Its ridiculous that Disney is not prepared for these kinds of things... happens with them all the time. There should be a way for Agents like Costco to utilize this promotion.

They told me about the form as well however they said it was for new bookings. They said I needed to cancel my cruise and rebook and then they send the form along with the NEW booking number and that was the only way they could send it off. Only if the booking was new. They also could not give me the rate I booked at, it would be todays rate, and I would not be guaranteed the same cabin. We have connecting cabins so that is out as well.
It's so wishy washy.

The promotion is not limited to New bookings so that sounds wrong. My agent had no concerns when submitting. And the Form did not exist when I made my reservation last night... not my fault. Others have mentioned that they got the promotion applied to an existing reservation. It is the whole reason we booked and we have only one week where this works for us.

Were you able to correct the name for the main passenger? I have the same issue. I have a booking, but was unable to modify the main person's name to match government ID, i.e., unable to add middle name. But I was able to add middle names to the other 3 passengers.

And if you were able to correct it, what did you have to do?
You describe my situation exactly. I corrected by going to Disney+ account/profile and changing the name on that account to match legal name on travel documents. Then, after going back in to the cruise line site and when it got time for me to enter names of travelers, the "form box" auto-populated the primary traveler with the new/correct legal name. How it knew to enter the correct middle initial I'm not sure, but this also then allowed me to select using drop downs the other two travelers information when previously I had to select new guest and enter address, etc. I don't know if it is tie in with our main Disney account or Disney+ profiles but it worked. I did not do a courtesy hold but with the system acting as it is, put down a deposit and can confirm my credit card was charged for it. I have a confirmation email, but our cruiseline account is not showing the reservation, only one I had a courtesy hold on earlier. I've been trying since yesterday to get through on phone to cancel on-hold reservation so someone else can have it but as you probably know both phone lines tell me they can't take my call and to try later.

FYI: For those of you not seeing the cruise you want online (or if it looks like all of the staterooms you want under the discount are gone), I'd call. I called first thing at 8am this morning and I was still able to apply offer to like 10 more clients' existing reservations without a problem. even though it looked like some of them were gone online.

I wonder if they took your call because you hit 1 indicating you were a travel agent? When I hit 2 saying I'm not it's not long till I get the recording telling me they can't/won't take my call.

I was able to update my middle name on the name Disney.com site, but it was after my reservation was made. So as far as I can tell, the reservation still shows my name with no middle name or initial. In other words, when I log into the DCL site now, it has my middle initial in my profile, but that did not retroactively change the information contained in my reservation. So, not sure if this will be a big deal or not. I don't want to hold on the phone for hours to get this corrected. Maybe when it is time for online check in, I can sort it all out then?

None of my business really, but why would you HAVE to work with Costco travel?
Using a TA should make your life easier, not harder.
Technically you are right. But last night I could not get the Cruise we wanted through the Disney site and our Disney+ account is registered with a separate e-mail so I was worried it would not work. I had Costco on the phone in parallel and they were able to book it faster. Plus I do like to get the Costco benefits.

Before the discount was released I priced out a couple cruises to be ready.

After the discount was released I priced out the same cruises.

Low and behold even with the $0 extra guest the cost of the cruise WENT UP.

#1 and #2 cost more now, enough more to raise the overall price of the cruise for 3.

Not surprised.

Hope you all do better.

No, that usually doesn't matter. Our waits are pretty much the same as everyone else's. I had DCL pulled up in my contacts and hit the call button right at 8am. Then "0" for whatever options I could to save some time :). TAs who are calling right now can't get through either.

That's crazy! So disappointing. The ones I priced out for clients on Wednesday were exactly the same price as on Thursday (for guests 1 & 2).

Yuck. I usually use Costco, but got really lucky and missed the window to transfer this one after booking directly with Disney. Lucky, because I could work directly with Disney. Once I got through to Disney, it was super easy to change the existing reservation to the new price. I've never head a problem with Costco either, but I may reconsider and use a company like Dream Unlimited next time, just in case I have a problem. At least they know DCL inside and out and won't give you wrong info like this.

Costco can really save you a ton with the gift card, executive reimbursement, and credit card reimbursement. But it may not be worth it if they don't do a good job when issues come up.

I keep getting an error message when I try to check what's available online - Does anyone know if San Diego cruises are part of this promotion? Thanks!

I'm done with Costco Travel (for cruises, at least). Had a cruise booked with them for March 2020 (first cruise cancelled), and have re-booked them countless times over the last 2.5 years. First it was to retain the OBB, then the FCC, but those of those have since timed out.

The latest booking was for Feb. 2023 on the Fantasy, and it finally seems like we're going to go on it. Then this promotion dropped, and another 3+ hours on the phone with Costco yesterday went nowhere. So I booked it on my own, and filled out the cancellation form for Costco. The guaranteed $2,500 saved far exceeds the Costco card/benefits. So we got a different stateroom right next to the old one; big deal.

Since Covid, Costco Travel (again, with cruises specifically) has been a giant hassle. I can't begin to quantify the hours I've spent on hold with them over the last 2.5 years, all for this cruise that I just booked yesterday on my own direct through Disney's website with the greatest of ease.

I've learned that it's far more important to be in control than to get a Costco gift card after the cruise. Just my two cents.

Agree with all of this, I hear you. In my situation, I could not log in to Disney Cruise using my Disney+ email so I got stuck having to call. Still a nightmare today trying to get through with Disney - wait times are around 3 hours.

Ahhhh, that is frustrating, and a bummer. Disney's IT often leaves much to be desired. Still probably better to deal with Disney directly, rather than the hold/wait/hold/wait/call back game. Hopefully they can handle it all in one call.

Costco actually changed their phone message yesterday to basically say "Disney is having technical problems, so we can't call them right now. Try back later."
