Disney Nostalgia Pictures

This is from Summer 1992 (I guess that counts as 'Nostalgia'):

Yep. Skyway through the Matterhorn. That's definitely nostalgia when you got the skyway and the old subs both in the picture. What great memories!

Yes, I miss the Skyway too. What's funny is, I was very uneasy riding IN the Skyway Buckets (fear of heights, I suppose, and of dangling from a precarious cable), but I REALLY miss how they looked against the skyscape/landscape of Disneyland. When they were taken down, it really changed the whole panoramic look of Disneyland, I think. I liked seeing the Buckets cutting through the Matterhorn and across Fantasyland.

So I was very pleased that I got the above-posted picture of the Skyway Buckets, the pre-Nemo sub and the Matterhorn all together in one shot because it does bring back fond memories for me. I am glad you guys like it too!!!:goodvibes

I guess we all have pictures like this one! :rotfl: We used to love this ride, not only for the fun of it to people watch, but also to get you from one side of the park to the other! ;)

Well, yours and mine are not exactly the same, thankfully!:rotfl2: Yours was taken from a totally different perspective, riding IN the actual buckets, overlooking the crowds below. I took mine from another location, overlooking the Subs and the lagoon. So just as with all the photos from different people that appear on DISboards of the same exact subjects or similar subjects, the vantage points are different and so it constantly keeps it interesting!!

What year was yours taken, bonofreak? Mine was summer of 1992 (July, to be exact), in the morning when it was still overcast. Yours almost looks a little older than that. It looks like it was taken pre-1992, which would be cool. Am I right?

I can't seem to get these to upload to my Photobucket, but there are some interesting Disneyland photos (looks like moslty from the Tomorrowland side of the park) from sometime between 1966-1968 or so with my mother and her parents in this post:

How neat! We call my grandpa "Opa" also. My dad is also "Opa" to his grandkids. (he served his mission in Germany and lived there for 3 years w/ my mom and 3 sisters during Viet Nam).

I love the really old ones from the '50s and '60s, but the '70s are great too - because of the clothes!! I don't feel mine are nostalgic enough, but I will dig through the 1980's albums tomorrow and see what I can come up with. My childhood 1970's DL pictures are hidden away in a box in a dark closet somewhere and probably impossible to get to. But the '80s and '90s stuff I can manage!!!

Someone else must have some more of the '70s and earlier pictures....

Mine was taken April 15, 1994, Sherry E. :)

I am loving all the pictures! Keep 'em coming, everybody! :cheer2:

My sister, brother and I in 1965. My head seems a little small for that hole! :lmao:

I don't know where they took this picture of us or how long they did things like that. :confused3 Does anybody know? It's neat how the date is on it and everything. :thumbsup2 We went for my brother's 13th birthday.

My Dad :cool1: (notice how he is dressed for Disneyland!), my brother and sister and I with one of the 3 Pigs. He looks a little scarey! :scared1: My Mom made those matching outfits for my sister and I. :)

Coincidentally, I just posted a few old pictures in my TR (from the '80s and '90s) of one of the 3 pigs - not sure which of the 3 pigs I got, but it was one of them. Your picture is really old, though, Bonofreak! I love the vintage stuff. In any case, I was saying in the TR that the Pigs never come out anymore. I remember seeing them around DL a lot in the early '80s and up to like 1993, maybe, but they faded away.

Thre is some question as to a certain wolf I got in some of my pictures from the '90s. At the time I got him in the pictures, I thought I was getting the Big Bad Wolf, because he did occasionally come out when the Pigs were out. Someone else suggested he was actually Don Karnage, from the Disney afternoon shows in the mid-'90s. And yet another person said he was actually from Pinocchio! So no one is clear on who the wolf is that I am posing with, but I assumed he was the Big Bad Wolf and now I think maybe not!! He doesn't look to me like the Don Karnage that I got in my pictures from October 2008. They look like two different characters to me. But whether or not he is the Big Bad Wolf or someone from Pinocchio is the real mystery!! I will have to copy one of the wolf pictures from my TR and post it here and ask, Who is This Wolf?!!

Sherry E, could this be the one you had your picture with? This is the one from Pinnochio, I believe, but I always thought he was a fox. I am hoping he is what you are thinking of! This is me with my sister. :)

And yes! I guess my pictures are pretty old! :lmao: But, hey! I am still in my 40's!!!! So I'm not ancient! Ha! Ha! :rotfl2:
