OK, I have seen more MCU movies than him, but I have not seen any with Wanda or Vision, so I guess we're in the same boat! o_O Um, which movies were they in?

Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame. Wanda is also in a post credits scene at the end of Winter Soldier, but that's not really necessary to understand her.

I believe Age of Ultron, Civil War, Endgame, & Infinity War. At minimum I would watch Ultron.

Endgame and Infinity War will make more sense if you watch the entire series of movies leading up to them

FWIW, most don’t include Ultron in their list of favorite MCU movies, so don’t judge the entire MCU on Ultron. Ultron does have the backstory on Wanda and Vision.

(Personally, after following the MCU through Infinity War, I started to enjoy rewatching Ultron a lot more, because there are a few hints in Ultron that eventually happen in future movies)

same here - I actually didn't see Ultron when it first came out but did watch it later and seeing how Scarlett Witch, etc started and some of the other backstory elements I enjoyed it for that element of it

Definitely just from the others I got a sense of Wanda and Vision, so while useful, not required

The main plot of Ultron is fine, it's the shoehorned romance and Joss Whedon trying too hard to be quippy that drag it down, IMO.

Even the “bad” movies in the MCU are still good movies in CBM standards. Thor the Dark World, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Age of Ultron, Ant Man and the Wasp. If those movies came out and weren’t compared to the rest of the MCU would still be lauded as good comic book movies. I really enjoy Thor the Dark World, but it’s probably the “worst” MCU movie. The action in Age of Ultron is top notch. But yes, the storytelling lacks depth.

On the flip side, Ultron is one of our favorites, especially with my kids.

I saw this and posted about it in the regular New thread ... is this meant for Disney+ or theatrical release?

(or maybe who the heck knows at this point)

Theatrical. There’s no way Feige would produce a film that doesn’t go to theaters.

takeaway from the writer signings is that this bodes really well for Loki and Doctor Strange 2. If Feige is in love with the writing in those 2 projects enough to hire them for his big Star Wars film, you know he has high praise for Loki and Doctor Strange 2

I've seen Infinity War, but don't recall a Wanda or Vision! They must have had small parts.

Always heard Ultron was the weakest, so never tried to watch it. I did see the first Avengers. I think Ultron came out after Iron Man III, which was so bad, that I didn't trust it. Same with Winter Solider (generally considered weak)(I have seen First Avenger and I do want to see Civil War).

I really should have watched Endgame by now, but wanted to watch Captain Marvel first. I'll do it this weekend.

Vision has a pretty key part of Infinity War - he has the Mind Stone that Thanos gets and then executes the snap

Wanda (Scarlett Witch) comes done and then kills Vision so Thanos can't get the stone but then Thanos reverse time so Vision comes back and he steals the stone

What?! I've always seen Winter Soldier called probably the best film in the MCU.

Also winter solider is pretty much unanimously considered top 5..many top 3

Yeah, Winter Solider is considered one of the best. I think it's a tad overrated myself, but fan consensus disagrees.
