Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun!

While it's possible Disney just hasn't updated their website, it's odd they would update one page and not the other. I wonder if the info being reported about extra evening hours for S & D is correct. The sites reporting it are ones I normally trust, though, so I guess we'll have to wait and see how it shakes out.
It was posted on their Facebook page as well so I wonder if it's just delayed in being updated

There is a line at the very end of the article that makes me wonder if it's only the new Swan Reserve that gets Extended Evening

"Both benefits will be available to guests of the hotel’s newest addition, the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, opening later this summer."

OK that's weird. I'm sitting here looking at that page and can't find that statement anywhere (using Chrome if that makes a difference). You gotta love Disney IT :rotfl2: .

It's probably true that they are included. As I mentioned the places I've seen it reported are usually spot on. It's probably just a glitch on the website.

Well, that pretty much confirms it. Thanks!

Well there goes the benefit of being exclusive and what a slap in the face to those actually staying at a Disney resort. They don't get the benefit while a non-Disney resort does. I swear, the news just keeps getting better and better.
Considering Shades of Green is for our active military service members, veterans and family members, I think they should be eligible for every perk Disney has to offer!

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Must be a pretty high $$$ contract they have with the S&D.

Looks like some park hours have been released for last week of September / beginning of Oct. Looks like the hours are same for 10/1. Was hoping for extended hours and earlier opening for Epcot.

MK: 9am-9pm
EP: 11am-9pm

No hours for AK or HS yet.

Edit:
AK and HS have been added:
AK: 8am-7pm
HS: 9am-9pm

It does make me start to consider S&D though. I never have in the past, but pricing seems to be closer to a Moderate than the other Epcot resorts.

The swan and Dolphin are actually listed/named Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. The location of both of these resorts place them in the deluxe category on Disney’s website. It may be those reasons why they got not only the early morning hours, but also the late hours. I’ve have stayed at three of the Disney deluxe resorts and also the Disney’s Swan. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin should be included. It is on property and is a deluxe resort.

Definitely check them out. There's a AAA discount if you have that, even without it you can normally find great deals just booking directly. The rooms aren't themed or decorated as nice as a deluxe resort, but they are spacious and the beds are great. There are some really great views from the balconies. There are lots of food options, but when I went last some weren't open because of reduced staffing for covid. It's definitely better than a moderate resort, and sometimes the prices are actually better than a value resort.

For the rest of July MK is opened 13 hrs/day, EP HS & AK 11 hrs/day with the last week in July seeing AK open 12 hrs on weekdays.

Then August starts with MK 13, EP 11, and HS & AK 12 hrs.

MK staying open to 10p and AK to 8p is much better. Plus you can hang for at least another hour to take in the night.

The official list of resorts that get Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on the WDW website is HERE. As of 1:45 PM on July 16, 2021, SOG is not listed (and I agree it should be) but neither are the Swan or Dolphin, which are listed on the morning extra hours list as the "Walt Disney World Swan/Dolphin" (as opposed to "Disney's [name of hotel]").
