I wonder if they'll have the same restrictions WDW is continuing to stick with regardless of not having a good reason to. I'm excited to watch DLR open wide, we'll be there mid-October! I've looked at the website and it only says character dining, no restrictions listed.

So I posted this a few weeks ago but our magic bands just came in the mail. Question for everyone here, if we have our passes in the wallet on our phones do we really need a magic bands?

We found our Apple watches worked great in place of MBs when entering parks. My husband's MB puck in a lanyard worked much better than the phones for entering our resort room. We also used his MB puck for PhotoPass photographers and for charging meals and purchases because it was easier than getting the phone out, didn't really try the phone or Apple watches for those things.

No, not really. One thing MBs are still useful for are ride pictures if you have PhotoPass or Memory Maker. And using to get into onsite rooms. Park entry, mobile order and purchases are easy to do from phone.

I'd bring the MBs just in case.

You are correct. Thank you! The other baby gorilla was Grace.

I'm getting mixed up with another baby that was named Faith.

Ok, so now I have no clue what the name of the new baby was that we saw in 2019, but she was adorable whatever her name was. :)

This exactly. MBs are invaluable for doors and photos.

You certainly don't need them. I still find them more convenient than using my phone and they are still part of the Disney magic for me. I'm sure that will change as they phase them out further. But I still wear mine. I've also seen too many people struggling in the parks to get their phones to work (seems to be dependent on brand and model, how well it works)
