Not sure about AP/DVC, but there was early purchase for onsite resorts for Boo Bash.
It’s the same set up from Boo Bash, early tickets for Boo Bash were available to select Walt Disney Resort Hotels a week before they went on sale to the general public.
I know what I was remembering....

DVC had a $10 off discount I thought.....maybe that's what Im thinking of ...so they had to call in for tickets vs. getting them online for Disney resort guests....

getting swept away in my excitement!

I notice that there is no mention of cavalcades for the Christmas after hours event. Could this mean a parade is coming? When Boo Bash was announced it specifically said there would be cavalcades.

Like a gift card? I've booked for next August as well.
I did not ask specifically how the money could be applied. The CM on the phone just said "if you have to cancel, you can apply the cost to a future resort stay or ticket purchase". I didn't think I would be canceling, so I didn't ask specifically if it would be a gift card or an online refund code (similar to what shopDisney does).

Everyone had to call at first, including those staying onsite. That's why the phone lines "crashed".

Why would they? Boo Bash is a huge success. It’s much cheaper to do and people are willing to pay more for it than the real parties. WDW would be foolish not to continue with these low cost mini events.

I am still on the side the party's will return, they ran parties on more nights than boo bash and sold even more tickets most likely to them so they make more in the end.

And the success of boo bash isn't known yet because no one has gone, this years response will help to determine next year.

I'm wondering at least if the credit wouldn't run out and I could use it for Halloween next year?

For those who’s bought after hours tickets before, how hard is it to get a ticket for the first day? I’ll be there November 6-12 and really want to go that first day. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Call as soon as they open the first sales day and keep calling. I had 2 dropped calls after an hour and a half and sat on hold for 6 hours at the end of the day and finally got someone. May not be normal, but I'm a TA as well

For Boo Bash, It took me 167 calls to get through, having to navigate the automated prompts in Spanish (I don't speak Spanish), and an hour on hold to get through to buy over priced tickets on the first purchase day. I still bought tickets.

I'll totally do the same for this if I have to.

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am part of the problem. :thumbsup2

I'm torn. We move from Universal to WDW on the 21st. Right now we have park reservations for Epcot on the 21st, as it stays open latest so it made the most sense (so we could enjoy Universal in the morning). But. . .depending on the price of the tickets. . . . our only choice would be the 21st. Haven't paid off our trip yet, could downsize one day of tickets - and plan the party on the 21st. Maybe. Might be a fun way to kick off the Disney part of our trip. Just dread what the cost will be.

If we can even get through to buy the tickets. We are staying on site. But, 167 calls, over an hour on hold. Yikes.

Boo Bash is wildly succcessful. People can’t get tickets fast enough.
It was popular enough that they’ve cancelled MVMCP and replaced it with another mini event.
I doubt we’ll ever see the real parties again.

I think they mean the actual event itself. If it’s a less than satisfactory experience they may modify it in some regard going forward. I’m expecting it to get good feedback though and for it to permanently replace the parties as you do

Update - if not already posted - the link is working now (no more Stitch Someone Ate the Page)... Disney Very Merriest After Hours will take place from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM on select nights, from November 8 through December 21, 2021. Tickets will go on sale next month, so continue to check for updates. Event tickets will grant admission to Magic Kingdom park as early as 7:00 PM

i understood that but the parties have been oversold for years with horrible crowds - lots of complaints flood in every year and yet they still had them. People rave about them. So while they’ll get the complaints, they’ll still have enough willing to buy that it won’t matter.

I know there are a contingent of people that loved the parties, but as a fan of "regular hours" I think this new setup is much more fair for day guests. Those after-hours events shut down the park early and basically the non party days became overstuffed at MK during the Holiday season. I think this is a good compromise.
