whens your guess to there been enough restaurants open then to bring it back

Trust me, I am not a good source for predictions. lol I think most all of them have to be back or they may wait to start the DP up again until the relatively slower months when the demand is less and they need to attract guests more. January maybe?

One thing I did find interesting was here in the uk on the Disney uk website, at one point (good few months ago) it said the dining plan has been suspended until 26th September 2021 and to subscribe to there mailing list for future updates, but they then removed that date. makes you think they want it back for the 50th. My guess is by 1st October but who knows

I also think they might give you a good wee bit of notice for it as it’s quite a lot to add on

I'm wondering if they will continue with the system for planning/tracking purposes, but reservations would always be green/available (kind of like what has happened with park hopping- never really fills up)
That’s what I assumed would always happen; once capacity returned to 100%, park reservations should never fill up, except maybe on Christmas or something.

As to free dining, I think the minute they have enough restaurants available to support it, the dining plans will be back. They are a huge source of revenue. I'm not sure "free" dining will ever be back. Looking at the lack of decent room discounts coupled with the fact that there is little availability at the resorts despite it, tells me people are willing to still stay on site without the bells and whistles to attract them. Maybe once they open up more resorts, they'll need to add incentives, but right now, they don't.

The minute they have enough restaurants, plus 2+ months out lead time to give people time to make reservations with some availability.

Free dining is most likely not happening for quite some time. The dining plan may not be back until 2022 (or late 2021 depending), and until they actually need the incentives free dining is off the menu. Post-revenge travel will be an interesting time to see what incentives are offered. I think there's a good chance a large chunk of people (more than usual) overextend themselves financially for the revenge travel trips to WDW, and don't return for several years without some major incentives. Doesn't help that the price keeps going up too.

This is the first time I am hearing the term "revenge travel" and I love it! Perfectly sums up what is happening in the travel industry. I know I'm guilty of it!

The UK 50th anniversary deal for arrivals in 2022 seem to suggest no dining plan for quite some time as they are offering a dining gift card instead throughout 2022?

This is not from my regular source, so take it with a grain of salt... but I'm excited and hopeful so I'm sharing.

Just heard FP+ returning is "imminent."

Definitely feels like it with how they got uncovered and tested out last week! Hopefully it’s right!

I personally haven’t missed FP+ during my trips during the capacity limitations but it will be good to have back!
