Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

And oh how I hate the barn sliding bathroom doors (everywhere).
I don't like them as the door to the bathroom but I love the ones like in that picture. There is actually a door to the bathroom part. That slider just covers the sink area where people can get ready without bothering people in bed. So much better than a curtain.

Don’t Miss these Giant Bear Claws at the Wilderness Lodge

1726148313802.png

If you’re looking for a bear-y delicious breakfast treat, look no further than the Roaring Fork restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!

The giant bear claw, a pastry staple at the Lodge, has been supersized. It’s nearly the size of an actual bear claw, making it a sight to behold. The flaky, buttery exterior is a perfect contrast to the soft, chewy interior.

But it’s not just the size that makes this bear claw so special. The flavor is equally impressive. Sweet and sticky, with just the right amount of cinnamon, it’s a true indulgence. The generous chunks of nuts add a delightful texture and a hint of savoryness that balances out the sweetness.

Sorry for all of the non Twitter users if they can't see this but it looks like Hocus Pocus is returning to theaters October 18th. Seems like Disney took a look at Beetlejuice Beetlejuice's success and said, hey we can do that too!
It was just the other day we took our then 7 yr old and her bf neighbor to see it. She's 38 now...

I watched it every Halloween on the Disney Channel and I guarantee that's how many other people found out about Hocus Pocus too. I don't think it's an amazing movie but the Sanderson sisters are 10000% the best part. They're still hilarious even after 30 years.

I remember seeing it on Disney Channel when I was 7 or 8 and watching it by myself. I loved it so much that the next time it was on TV I made microwave popcorn, and forced my parents to watch it because, as I told them at the time, "it's the best movie I've ever seen." As an adult, I don't still share that opinion with my younger self, but it is a very fun movie and a movie that meant a lot to me growing up. (Although I did get in trouble at school for asking my 3rd grade teacher what a 'virgin' was because of this movie; she thought I was trying to troll her, but I truly didn't know and was just curious lol)

Deadpool becoming a permanent meet & greet in Disneyland Paris?
I just got a survey from Disneyland Paris about meeting characters. It was a long list of all kinds of characters and how important they are for me to meet them.

One character to stood out was Deadpool. He first appeared in the list of Marvel characters and how important he was. And later there were additional questions, if I knew him (even if it was just by name) and how familiar I was with him.

I had said initially that he was not important for me to meet. I also answered this for other characters (mainly Marvel or Star Wars). So that wasn't a reason why they singled out Deadpool.

So my guess... Disneyland Paris is trying to measure how necessary it is to have Deadpool as a permanent character in the parks.

Oh, man! September is the song I would really want to play if I took my parents. They haven't ridden it yet and are big Earth, Wind, & Fire fans. I need to plan it I guess for next year to be that day!

Woody’s Lunch Box Seating Area Demolished, Are Upgrades Coming Soon?

woodys-lunch-box-seating-area-09132024-1-1920x1080.jpg

Just over a week ago, we flagged that there was some construction underway at the Woody’s Lunch Boxseating area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. To accommodate the closed seating area, tables were placed in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for guests to sit down and enjoy their meal. What appeared to be a limited demolition of the flooring in the seating area has since expanded, also expanding our hopes for the project.

As you can see in our photo [above], the entire floor of the seating area has been demolished and returned to dirt. It’s honestly quite amazing to see something like this happening so early in the life of the area. It’s unclear what prompted the work, but now I’m starting to think that this isn’t a limited fix as I once thought. Best case scenario is that the seating area is being rebuilt to either allow for more seating (unlikely given that the footprint of the area hasn’t changed) or that the seating area will return as a covered seating area.

Back in 2021 and early 2022, Disney was actively working on a covered structure that sits unfinished and behind construction walls to this day. The structure would’ve only covered a small portion of the total seating area, so perhaps the reason that construction on that project stalled was because a larger project was in the works…

Again, Walt Disney World hasn’t commented on the project, but we hope to see some signs of a themed, covered seating area taking shape over the coming weeks. It would be kind of unbelievable if Disney World didn’t take advantage of the fact that it’s dirt again and build something better. If not, well, there’s always the Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
