Shanghai Disneyland Announces Ticket Price Increase Taking Effect This Summer

The following is a public notice of pricing rate adjustment for Shanghai Disneyland admission, which will take effect on June 23, 2023.

Starting June 23, 2023, Shanghai Disney Resort will adjust its pricing rate for admission to Shanghai Disneyland. The new definition and rate for the four-tiered pricing structure – Regular, Regular Plus, Peak and Peak Plus, will be as following:
  • “Regular” price of admission to Shanghai Disneyland, covering most of the weekdays and selected weekends, is set at 475 RMB;
  • “Regular Plus” price of admission will cover selected weekends and selected weekdays, and is set at 599 RMB;
  • “Peak” price of admission, which covers most of the days in summer season, selected Chinese statutory holiday periods (including their shoulder days), internationally recognized celebration periods, park special event days, and other peak visitation days, is set at 719 RMB;
  • “Peak Plus” price of admission, covering selected Chinese statutory holiday periods, park special event days and selected days in summer season, is set at 799 RMB.
A discount of approximately 25% will continue to be provided to children (aged 3 to 11 years old, both inclusive; or with a height above 1.0 meter and up to 1.4 meters), seniors (60 years old and above) and guests with disabilities (certificate/proof of disability is required). Infants (under the age of 3 years old or with a height of 1.0 meter and below) will continue to receive free admission. Shanghai Disneyland will continue to offer the pricing calendar on a rolling 30-day basis to allow sufficient time for guests to make choice and plan their trip to the park.
 
I suppose it is at least something after years of nothing. Also, with it being on a gift card, you aren't required to buy a snack, a meal, a drink a day to get your money worth. you have the choice to use the dining credit on any dining, whether that be a meal a day or 20 snacks :D
I think a room discount would generally be just as good, if not better and they have had some of those over the last few yrs. in some form or fashion. The last 2 trips we've stayed offsite and this meager g/c deal wouldn't sway me to pay rack rate for rooms and tix.

I'm sure many will be happy with it though, so it's good for them.
 
Beni the Okapi Makes First Appearance on Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Savanna

Our dedicated team of animal care experts is starting the new year off on the right foot … or, more specifically, the right – and left – hoof with the introduction of Beni the okapi calf to the Pembe Savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Guests watched with delight as Beni cautiously but curiously explored the new sights and smells of the savanna with his mom Olivia closely nudging him on from behind. Since his birth in July, Beni has grown to a height of four feet tall and weighs around 230 pounds. And while he still stays pretty close to mom, he is slowly becoming more independent and his endearing personality is starting to show as he matures.

We create magic at Disney and, to me, one of the most magical sights is witnessing an animal step onto the savanna for the first time. It inspires our guests to connect and care about animals they otherwise may never see, and it’s a major accomplishment for Beni’s care team who have worked for months to prepare him for this exciting moment.

Okapis are endangered in their home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and they are very good at camouflaging themselves into the rainforest, so getting to see them roam the savanna here at Walt Disney World Resort is incredibly special.

Beni is the first calf of mom Olivia and dad Elombe, and his birth was part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan which ensures the responsible breeding of threatened and endangered species in managed care. Programs like these make it possible for people to experience this majestic species first-hand at accredited institutions across the country, and we’re elated to be one of them. Disney also has a long history of supporting conservation organizations dedicated to protecting okapis and the forests they call home. Funds from the Disney Conservation Fund have helped monitor wild okapi populations, reduce deforestation, and support the well-being of local communities who share the forest with this iconic species.

What Is the Disney Dining Promo Card?

The digital Disney Dining Promo Card is a digital gift card—and it’s included with a special offer for select Walt Disney World room-and-ticket packages. The card can be used for select food and beverage purchases during your Walt Disney World vacation.

Where to Use It

Use your digital Disney Dining Promo Card to purchase meals, snacks, treats and beverages at select participating dining locations during your Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy a tasty bite on the go from quick-service venues, food carts, kiosks and more. Or, sit down to a leisurely meal at a table-service restaurant (advance reservations are highly recommended).

Before you dine or purchase food and beverage items, be sure to check that the location accepts the digital Disney Dining Promo Card.

Receiving Your Card

The digital Disney Dining Promo Card will be sent to you via email when you check in at your Disney Resort hotel.

How to Use Your Card

Simply present your digital Disney Dining Promo Card email or a printed copy of the email when purchasing food and beverages at participating locations. Additionally, you can save your card to your mobile device wallet to use at select locations.

You can use the card’s value as you like. Purchase food and beverages throughout your stay—or spend the entire value in one day. It’s up to you!

Use It for Qualifying Mobile Orders

Order ahead and save time at select dining locations that offer mobile ordering—a feature of the My Disney Experience app. You can use your digital Disney Dining Promo Card just like a gift card when paying for your order.

Treehouse Leisure Pool Closing for Refurbishment at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

The pool will be closed early January through the end of March 2023.

As a reminder, High Rock Spring Pool and On the Rocks Pool Bar will also be closed for refurbishment during that time.

The Grandstand Pool, the Paddock Pool, and the Congress Park Pool will remain open and available to Guests throughout both refurbishments. A shuttle will be available daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. to transport Guests to the Grandstand Pool.
 
“Hey, Disney!” to be Available in Homes from Late 2023

Folks with Alexa at home will soon be able to interact with “Hey Disney!” via a paid Alexa skill, though the price has yet to be announced. The Disney assistant will automatically be unlocked if you already pay for an Amazon Kids profile.

The voice assistant provides access to more than 20 Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars characters. They include Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Dory from Finding Nemo, and Olaf from Frozen. You’ll be able to request jokes, play games, and listen to Disney music and sounds.

I have so many thoughts on this.

-I really wish they'd give you the option to go to a special scrap area to buy new pieces to further customize you saber. I chose the pieces I liked best for mine, but my attitudes and tastes are always subject to change, so there's an interest.

-I do feel as though my Elemental Nature saber just became a little more special, since the ability to buy my specific design has become more limited.

-I notice these pieces are only available in Disneyland for the time being. Does that mean they'll be replaced at WDW too, or will it be a bicoastal thing, encouraging guests to visit both parks? I guess we'll see.

I have so many thoughts on this.

-I really wish they'd give you the option to go to a special scrap area to buy new pieces to further customize you saber. I chose the pieces I liked best for mine, but my attitudes and tastes are always subject to change, so there's an interest.

-I do feel as though my Elemental Nature saber just became a little more special, since the ability to buy my specific design has become more limited.

-I notice these pieces are only available in Disneyland for the time being. Does that mean they'll be replaced at WDW too, or will it be a bicoastal thing, encouraging guests to visit both parks? I guess we'll see.
-At Disneyland there was the ability to buy spare parts at Dok Ondar’s. I don’t know if that’s still a thing but it was at one point $24.99 for one part and $20 a part if you bought 2.

-The announcement for these was back in May of last year at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim and I think they just said that all 4 would be refreshed so if I were to guess it’s probably eventually coming to Walt Disney World too.

“World of Color – ONE” celebrates how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. You’ll discover how it only takes one action to make an impact on the people in our lives and the world around us, just as one man – Walt Disney – started the wave that has continued to grow and inspire people around the globe for 100 years.

The spectacular features songs and stories of some of the most courageous, loving and inspiring characters who dared to be wavemakers and change the world. In fact, this is the first Disneyland Resort nighttime spectacular to feature characters, music and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, the Avengers, and Star Wars in the same production. Moments from favorite films such as “The Lion King,” “Moana,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Soul,” and others emerge on an immense water screen that can span up to 380 feet across.

This spectrum of stories is set to a beautiful musical score comprised of 18 different compositions, including a new, original song “Start a Wave,” which was written by GRAMMY®-nominated artist Cody Fry and features lead vocals performed by singer-songwriter and actress Loren Allred.

In addition to being a driving metaphor in the story of “World of Color – ONE,” water plays a starring role in transforming Paradise Bay during the show. Each musical moment is brought to life by mist screens and 1,200 dancing fountains, combined with brilliant lighting, projection, laser, fog and flame effects. And you can even wear your MagicBand+ to experience another dimension of storytelling to “World of Color – ONE”! Your band will enhance the effects with synchronized dancing lights and vibrations.

This immersive journey builds to an emotional and uplifting finale that highlights how, when we come together and combine our efforts, many drops can become an ocean. You’ll walk away feeling inspired to start a ripple of your own and be the one to make a wave for the future.

When “World of Color – ONE” debuts, you will be able to access viewing areas for the show through a virtual queue system available only via the Disneyland app.* Distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at noon, daily (subject to availability), and is available for guests who have entered Disney California Adventure park for the day or have entered Disneyland park with a Park Hopper ticket.** On nights when there are multiple showtimes, distribution for additional showtimes will begin immediately after distribution for the first showtime has ended. If you have obtained a virtual queue selection, enter your designated viewing area for your designated show time via one of the two marked entrance points (Blue or Yellow) approximately 30-45 minutes before the show begins. How-to details on the virtual queue system are available at Disneyland.com. If the virtual queue reaches capacity, check in with a cast member at the Paradise Bay viewing area shortly before “World of Color – ONE” begins for walk-up viewing options. Joining the virtual queue is not required, but it is highly recommended as walk-up viewing options for each performance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
