Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

That's good to hear! I saw Across the Spiderverse last night (AMAZING, by the way!) and there was a screening for Elemental next to my theater. There was a huge line to get in, mostly families with kids. It was good to see such a huge turnout for a Pixar movie again. Personally I most likely won't see it in theaters.
Spiderverse was amazing except for one thing:
I had no idea it was a 2 parter! Ending on a cliffhanger like that!

I knew it was a 2 part movie but where it ended off was INSANE! A few people in my theater actually booed.
I’m not a movie-is-ruined-by-a-spoiler type person (I’m an instant gratification girl - like I already know about the cameos in the Flash, meh), but I saw zero in social media about the above spoiler, and it threw me! What?!

she was instrumental in getting rid of Chapek. Sad that she's leaving now.
I don't believe that. When he left it was a huge non-confidence in the Board, and persons such as her that had to be part of his orchestrating "cooking the books." He could not have done what he did with the numbers without her. The Board screwed up with his appointment and they weren't watching over his decisions, her numbers and more.

When he was fired there was a huge PR machine put into action, they had to make it look like they had control, they had people working on it and no one should loose faith in the top level management. I didn't believe anything they put out there. He had created so many problems from the day he took office but somehow we are to believe their "people were working on it". But yet they pretty much fired him within hours long time frame.

They moved Parker into the position of Chairman of the Board and he was tasked with working on new succession planning primarily to replace Iger but it would not surprise me if McCarthy was also pushed to leave. Again CFO is fully involved with what Chapek was doing to the finances of the company.

Add that she when she spoke for the company she was demeaning and insulting to customers and they got backlash for that. Disney needs to keep cleaning house. We might see some others "leave" as well. I'm glad she is leaving.

Yeah, the only thing I don't like about it is that the tickets go on sale at odd times and it's never consistent. For thos ebig, even tmovies tha teveryone wants, sometimes all the good seats are sold before I even know they're up. It is nice though to not have to get to the theater hours in advance.
You can sign up for alerts on Fandango for when the movies you want go on sale. That’s what I do for the important ones.

Yeah, but our local theater chain isn't always in step with the national distributors. You can buy through Fandango, but like for Elemental, they had listed tickets at several theaters, but not the one I usually go to until the day before. They just aren't consistent.

Oh wow, I have been out of the loop!! I didn't realize the thread was open again. Just realized this today and spent all morning catching up. We were on our WDW vacation at the end of the school year. After coming back home, it is too sad to think about Disney for a few days. News overload today. . .for me anyway.

@HokieRaven5 Thank you for all your hard work!!

Yeah, it's back, and we're just all pitching in with posts. Hoepfully it stays on track.

I will try to help, too. I am not sure how to post updates other than entering a web address. Is there a tutorial somewhere?
Everyone has a different style for posting, so any type of update is fine!

As far as a tutorial, here is what I personally do:

1. Click on the 'Insert Link' icon (looks like a chain) to paste the web address and title of the article. This will insert a link into the post. I click in front of the link, then drag and select the whole thing--using the 'B' to bold it and the 'T' to increase it's size to 18.

2. Then I look for key information from the article to copy and paste into the post.

3. Then I look for one good picture to copy and paste into the post. There are multiple ways to do this, but you can right-click on the picture, select Copy Image Address, choose the 'Insert Image' icon (looks like a rectangular picture) and paste the image address in the tab with the link icon.

4. If an article has a lot of good text and pictures, I just select and copy everything and post it--text, pictures, and all!

Since some people are working with phones, tablets, or desktops, these steps may vary. It doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to get the point across!

Awesome! Thank you! I will practice.
