Singapore Revealed as the Future Home Port for Disney Cruise Line’s ‘GLOBAL DREAM Project’

On March 29, 2023, an exclusive partnership between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board was announced which will establish a presence for the cruise line in Southeast Asia with the GLOBAL DREAM home porting in Singapore.

The new vessel acquired by Disney Cruise Line late last year, is still undergoing a Disney remodel, however details of the yet to be renamed GLOBAL DREAM have yet to be announced.

The announcement included Disney’s Josh D’Amaro and Singapore Tourism Board CEO, Keith Tan where it was revealed the ship will begin service in Singapore in 2025 with a 5-year commitment.

At this time, Disney Cruise Line has not made the announcement official. We will update this article once more details are released. Until then, you can read more about the announcement via ChannelNewsAsia.
This is still so incredibly bizarre to me and easily the weirdest thing to come out of the Chapek era. A hideous Wish dot com bootleg of a RCL Oasis class ship dilutes the brand imo

Cheap way to expand DPEP’s Cruise industry in a different market. Perfectly on Brand for how Chapek operated.

We’ll just have to wait and see what they do to dress it up and Disney-fy it…

The max 6,000 occupancy is what gets me to say NO. That's way too many people on a ship (some of that is crew, but still). I'm very curious how they will "Disney-fy" the ship. Obviously remove the casino level but I'm wondering about everything else.

It's for the Asian market which doesn't know the brand yet and is used to other kinds of cruise ships.

I actually like the Oasis ships, and the crazy thing is people are generally spread out enough that they don’t feel crowded unless you’re trying to hit the buffet at peak hours on a sea day, but this thing is a really terrible knockoff design that seems to have just been made to maximize capacity. Even half finished it’s very weirdly laid out

Its 6000 passengers plus 3000 crew. Original ship was planning for 9000 passengers plus crew!
Either way, the ship is too big for me! Our first 2 cruises were the Magic and Wonder with around 2600 passengers. Did the Fantasy last year with 3600....I can't imagine 6000.

I doubt it, considering the massive distance between Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Add in Singapore to that and yeah...........

Yeah, Tokyo is pretty darn far. Would likely require an overnight docking in Hong Kong or Shanghai. The logistics of 6,000 guests trying to get to the park would be a nightmare, too.

Would love this option, though, if they could somehow make it work. My husband and I are eager to visit the Asian parks, but the logistics are a big question mark for us.

A ship with no casino is going to be an extremely hard sell in that market unless they make some substantial changes.
I suspect that Big Papa Iger will be transitioning TWDC into gambling and this would include DCL.

After all, Iger stated earlier this month that sports betting was "invevitable" for sports entertainment (i.e. ESPN). Iger may not be as Gung-ho about gambling as Bob Chapek, but its "inevitable".

Big Papa Iger's public perception may get the legacy fans and North Stars to think he is a nice Disney corporate leader that cares, but at his core he's trying to make deals that he thinks will make the company money (i.e. Lucas Film, Fox, etc.) There's too much money involved with gambling to say no.

Having been to Tokyo Disney, I don't think I would want to try to go if I was doing a cruise. Their rope drop game is so extreme that by the time you get to the parks past then, the big E-tickets have a 120-180 minute wait. Also the parks don't have free Wifi anywhere so you would need a Sim card if you want to use their version of paid Fastpass.

Not that I would want to do this anyway. 6,000 people PLUS crew - no thanks lol

They'll find a quality voice actor, hopefully. Talented voice actors can do some amazing stuff to mimic others.
Like Ross Marquand voicing Red Skull in Infinity War and Endgame, and then Ultron in What If…? and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Ed Asner provided Carl’s dialogue for this short before he passed. It was originally going to release around Valentine’s Day this year on Disney+ but they pulled it and decided to put it before Elemental.
