I'm beginning to think it will be long. I think with Splash Mountain going down soon, Disney is likely taking the opportunity to do a long refurbishment now so two mountains don't have to be closed at the same time. Seeing how early in August it is closing, I wonder if that means Splash will close around October/November. (Just my speculation)
But, on the other hand, the Matterhorn is constantly down for refurbishment. It was already closed once this year. Historically it seems it is often refurbed 2 to 3 times a year. So not sure this will be a big refurb or just another notch in Matterhorn's belt

I'm not as familiar with DL. Just based it off the refurbishment history. The app has it down through at least Aug. 31. Unless an end date hasn't been decided yet, seems like it may be a long closure?

Disneyland News:

Cast Members Outraged After Disneyland Announces New Attendance Policy

Cast Members are taking to social media this afternoon after the Disneyland Resort and related Unions announced that a new attendance policy will go into effect in early October. The policy, which utilizes an “hours missed” metric instead of a points-based metric, is viewed by many Cast Members as being more restrictive than the current policy. A big sticking point with Cast Members appears to be that an ongoing illness will be more penalized under the new “hours missed” metric versus the current points-based metric that recognizes that illness can stretch more than a single day.

On first glance, cash rates for the 2023 DVC Member Cruise do not appear to be all that terrible as compared to previous Member Cruises, while point rates are almost double what the value of those points would be if you chose to rent them and pay cash for the cruise instead.

DVC Members looking to book the 2023 DVC Member Cruiser on the NEW Disney Wish should mark their calendars. Bookings begin for this member-exclusive sailing on Saturday – July 23rd, 2022 at 10:00am, EST!
The 2023 DVC Member Cruise will be aboard the Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. The newest member sailing will take place in September 2023. It will start at Port Canaveral on September 4, 2023, and return on September 8, 2023.

If anyone has a trip soon and plans to watch LL return times on the app ahead of time, there has been a change the last couple days.

You are not able to see return times on the Tip Board until 7:30 am. This is true even if you are presently at WDW and have purchased G+ for the day. There is a thread regarding the change. https://www.disboards.com/threads/tip-board-not-showing-genie-return-times.3890327/#post-64169738

The "thinking" is this change was made due to the first half hour being a work in progress if you will. People would click to book an attraction at a certain time. When the transaction was complete, your actual time would be further out - maybe much further.

@mrsap I saved my complaining for the other thread. :P Don't want to mess up our vibe here. :)

How does it work, if you order a magic band within 6 days of your arrival? (I'm not, but curious..) Do you pick it up at the resort? Is there an inventory issue with what's available online and then available at the resort desk?
