John Williams Plans To Retire After Fifth ‘Indiana Jones’ Film

View attachment 678780

In an exclusive interview with The Associate Press, Williams hinted that Indiana Jones 5 would be the last feature he scored.

That headline is a little misleading - he's not "retiring" he's just moving away from film work. He still want's to do concerts and collaborations with other musicians. Good for him! This guy can do whatever he wants - he has nothing more to prove.

Yeah I meant to update it was only for film that he was moving on from.

OMG Dec 22!! I have to get that. (Quoted the wrong one.. it was for the WDW Christmas party 😂)

Everyone told me that the last date would be 20th

I think it's weird too. A part of me thinks they do it to clear out their extra stock of the unsold merchandise they have in their backrooms. I remember they did this with the mummy Mickey popcorn buckets too despite some of those appearing in Goodwill stores in California for less than $20.

I mean, it is definitely going to be the deluxe hotels and those staying on DVC points.

Just remains to be seen if all deluxes will be included.

I'm thinking it's going to include all onsite hotels, and just may not include some of the partner hotels that get early entry?

I attended his sold out performance in Philly a few months back. He was having a blast and definitely didn't look his age. I agree that he should enjoy the fruits of his labor, continue to tour and share with the fans!

First Look at Disney+ Original Series ‘The Santa Clauses’ for Halfway to the Holidays

You better not cry and you better not pout because “The Santa Clauses” is coming to Disney+!

In celebration of Halfway to the Holidays, we’re excited to debut the official series name and a first look at the cast. Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell will reprise their roles as Santa Claus (Scott Calvin) and Mrs. Claus (Carol) with new cast joining the Disney+ Original Series. Austin Kane and Elizabeth Allen Dick (Fun fact: Elizabeth is also Tim Allen’s real-life daughter) join the cast playing the roles of Cal and Grace, the two children of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The cast of the Disney+ Original Series ‘The Santa Clauses’

In addition to the Calvin family, Kal Penn joins the cast of “The Santa Clauses” playing Simon Choski, a single father, ambitious game inventor and product developer whose visit to the North Pole makes a big impact on the direction of his life. He’s joined by Rupali Redd playing the role of Grace, his angelic daughter with a love for Santa and all things Christmas.
And where would Santa be without his elves? Devin Bright joins the cast as Noel, Santa’s trusted right-hand elf, along with Matilda Lawler as Betty, Santa’s demanding Chief of Staff and job-oriented Elf.
“The Santa Clauses” is set some time after the events of “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” and picks up with Scott Calvin on the brink of his 65th birthday. Realizing he can’t be Santa forever as he suddenly starts to lose his Santa magic, he sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the North Pole.

Probably, which I think is needed. Both times I’ve been there were enormous amounts of food being wasted, which is awful. And they didn’t have 2 person buckets/servings of anything. Anything they can do to cut waste is fantastic. However, they can get/make smaller buckets…
I've found it more difficult to serve from the buckets, especially when you can't see what's in there. And the last time we went, it was just DH and myself, and we couldn't eat it all. In July he and I will get to find out whether the skillets are easier to serve from and are a more reasonable serving size for the two of us.

Top of the World Lounge Reopening on July 11 at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort just announced that the recently-refurbished Top of the World Lounge (located atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort) will reopen to Disney Vacation Club Members as Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair on July 11, once again offering spectacular views for Members

As part of Membership Magic, a special hard-ticket event, the "Bound to be Bad" Fireworks Party, will be held prior to the opening on July 8-10. Members will revel in the darker side of their favorite Disney stories during a food-and-drink-filled fireworks party inside the newly refreshed lounge. Hosted by villain super-fans deviously decked out in their "Disney-bounding" best, this Membership Magic event includes a sinister spread of ominous appetizers, an open bar of cunningly crafted cocktails, and a raven's-eye view of the "Disney Enchantment" nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park.

This hard-ticket event will only be offered to eligible Members who are staying on Walt Disney World Resort property, who will receive more information about the reopening and event.

The location will operate daily from 6 p.m. to midnight; however, operating hours may be further impacted by blackout dates around major holidays and closure due to ticketed or other private events.

More Details Released for Top of the World Lounge — A Villains Lair at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney has released more details about Top of the World Lounge — A Villains Lair at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which will reopen to Disney Vacation Club Members on July 11, 2022.

Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members with access to Membership Extras who are staying at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash) will have access. Guests staying on the Member’s reservation may accompany them. Eligible Members can enjoy the lounge with one party per day.

The lounge (or lair) will be open from 6:00 p.m. to midnight daily. Check-in starts at 5:45 p.m. Complimentary parking for Disney Vacation Club Members will be available starting at 5:00 p.m. Eligible Members must present their digital Member Card and photo ID. The lounge will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until it reaches capacity.
The lounge will have blockout dates for holidays and special event nights.

So far, the following dates are blocked out:
  • July 3
  • July 4
  • December 30
  • December 31
There will be new villains-themed food and beverage options, including the Seven-Lair Cake. No outside food or beverages may be brought in.
There will also be new furnishings and artwork. Classes and events at Top of the World Lounge will be announced later.

Here is the backstory for the Villains Lair from Disney:

Discover the untold story of this covert hideout for some of Disney’s most dastardly villains. Even the ruthless relax.
Whether pursuing puppies or stealing souls, messing with a mermaid or belittling a beast, evil-doing is exhausting. And since a dishonest day’s work is frowned upon by mainstream masses, the deliciously devious decompress away from judging eyes––hiding deep underground… or on top of the world. Swapping stories of sabotage and toasting with tales of terror, the unsavory unwind in places inaccessible to the innocent.

So, when our own Top of the World Lounge temporarily closed its doors atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it didn’t take long for the idle enclave to become a devils’ playground. We’re not sure how they got here (we can only guess by monorail), but we do know they were here. For when we returned to reopen this picturesque place to mingling Members, we found stuff left behind by these hustlers in a hurry.

Curious couture from their wicked wardrobes. Artwork befitting their ghastly galleries. And rebellious recipes for their cunning concoctions. That’s when we did what so many great Cast Members have done before us.
We gave the place a longer name. Welcome home to the Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair. Like the best Disney stories, it’s a place of magic… with a touch of tragic.
