Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort closing for refurbishment this summer

Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be closing for a refurbishment beginning August 15 2022.

Reservations are still available through August 14, Kona's final day of operation before refurbishment. During the closure of Kona, Kona Island will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner via Mobile Order in My Disney Experience.

There is no word yet on what the changes will be made, or how long Kona Cafe will be closed. The restaurant is currently listed as closed through at least September 1 2022.

The deviled egg one actually sounds really good to me. I would try the second one, but I am getting heartburn thinking about croissants deep fried in chicken fat. The chocolate and cherry one is probably what I will get first in a couple of weeks at Disneyland, because I am a fiend for chocolate and cherries.

I agree. The last few times I've eaten there, it wasn't that good and I decided that I wouldn't go back. If it gets a revamped menu I might try it again.

Oh yeah, that fig & brie sounds really good too. I wish my husband wasn't lactose intolerant. We always have to share an ice cream, and he isn't always keen on getting it too often. It cuts down on my ability to eat them all

First Booths Appear for EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival 2022​

The first marketplace booths for the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival have appeared in World Showcase at EPCOT.

This stone, vine-covered booth is for the Spain Marketplace. It is between the Germany and Italy Pavilions.

Near the China Pavilion is the India Marketplace booth.

Maelstrom closed October 5, 2014 and Frozen Opened in June 21, 2016 so less than 2 years to do that re theme.

Merchandise Kiosk Reopens, Face Painting Station Removed at Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom​

The merchandise kiosk near the entrance to Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has reopened.

We found merchandise at the kiosk that has been sold out from Windtraders for a while.

There are mostly toys and figures.

The face painting station, Colors of Mo’ara, has been removed and converted into more merchandise space for the kiosk.

Blue Bayou Restaurant Now Open for Walk-Ins at Disneyland​

Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland has reopened after an over a month-long closure, and is accepting walk-ins for the next few days.

Disney shared on Twitter that the restaurant is accepting walk-ins for both lunch and dinner at the podium or via the Disneyland app. Reservations will be available beginning June 8.

Construction Work to Impact Select Areas of Disney's BoardWalk Resort Starting Today​

As previously announced, Disney's BoardWalk Inn will soon undergo a major refurbishment project that will introduce a variety of new offerings, including an updated lobby design, additional dining options, refreshed guest rooms, and more.
Construction work related to this major project will take place starting today (Friday, June 3, 2022). The following notes will be placed in select Guest rooms while work is taking place around the resort:

"Welcome Home!

Thank you for choosing Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas. We are delighted to share our seaside charm and hospitality with you.

In an ongoing effort to enhance our facilities for your continued enjoyment, some locations of our Resort are currently being refreshed. During your stay, you may experience noise impacts due to construction work being done between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Happy to hear about new dining options at Boardwalk. It's lack in that arena is a reason why I never put it on my consideration list.
