Disneyland President Talks Future of Tarzan’s Treehouse and IP Refresh at Disneyland

Disneyland President Ken Potrock recently spoke on the D23 podcast about some recent happenings at Disneyland. One of the topics that came up was the Tarzan’s Treehouse reimagining. While Potrock didn’t confirm or deny the rumor that an Encanto theme would take over the space, he did confirm that the entrance to the attraction would be changing. Disney will be ripping out the current entrance, which is in the middle of the walkway, and constructing a new entrance in an effort to open up the walkway that connects the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Potrock did say that a “new, vibrant…fresh IP, fresh storytelling” to the attraction. Kim Irvine is heading up the project and new theme.

Oooo I like the idea of a bigger walkway in Adventureland. That places gets PACKED!

Tokyo Disney Resort & Disneyland Paris Halloween Events Return, Plus Other Ghoul-obal Delights

Let’s start in Tokyo, where this year the happy haunts are materializing once again from Sept. 15 – Oct. 31 for a special “Disney Halloween” event at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. To prepare for this swinging wake, Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror are in still in operation, waiting for you.

The Disney Halloween Party will also return… with double the fun! In 2022, two iconic parties will spook guests on October 29th and 31st. The wickedly funny details and ticketing for the Disney Halloween Parties will soon be available on disneylandparis.com

I was hoping for this because we are on a cruise from the 12th to the 19th and it would be perfect to do it the night we get off the cruise. I don't love Halloween in August, but it's the only time our family can get there with girls in two different colleges. We did it this same time last year and it was HOT but we planned our costumes accordingly so they were fine. I just really want some "BOO TO YOU!!

I know it is sooooooooo very hot but the time works for us too....it's just the flights that have been nightmares trying to book. May just have to go again in October if I don't make it in August lol

The VD Hotel has a really bad ring to it:rolleyes:

Holy high pricing batman, I can never understand a party ticket costing more than a day ticket. Insanity.

Is this spooky scary skeletons?! DH and DD watch this repeatedly every October + they listen to the remix. Guess I better start saving up, they'll cost $100 by the time October rolls around with how fast prices are rising these days.

It's from the Skeleton Dance. It's one of the Silly Symphony cartoons. They were done very early on in the 1920s.

Room Service Menu Expanding to Include Downtown Disney Locations for Disneyland Resort Hotels

In an interview on the D23 podcast, Disneyland President Ken Potrock said that Disneyland Resort hotel guests would soon be able to order food from select Downtown Disney locations to their hotel room. This is in addition to existing room service menu offerings.

The move will be rolled out with a host of other resort benefits meant to entice guests to spend extra on their Disneyland Resort visit and stay “on-site”.

Magic Kingdom Closing at 4:30pm on Two Dates in May 2022

In order to (hopefully) finally honor long-delayed Cast Member service awards, Magic Kingdom will be closing early on two dates next month. According to the Disney World calendar, Magic Kingdom will be closing at 4:30pm on May 3rd and May 15th.

As you’d expect, there will be no fireworks for guests on those dates as Cast Members take over the park with friends and family to celebrate their milestones with the company.

This is big sad for me.

Uva and Catal are wonderful, and we already have a mexican place in DTD.

Really disappointed by Disney's choices on this one.
That's what I said, I don't understand the need for another Mexican restaurant in DTD. But, Catal & UVA bar are ralely busy, so I'm guessing that's the reason behind the change?

If you haven't been to Din Tai Fung, you don't know what you've been missing out on. I've said for a while that this would be perfect for Disney. It's served family style, the food usually comes out pretty quickly, and while some stuff might turn off picky eaters I think there is still something for everyone. It really is some of the best dumplings and dim sum you'll have in the states. Hopefully it comes to Disney Springs next. They announced a few weeks ago that they are opening a NYC location, their first on the east coast, so hopefully they will extend further out on the coast.

And yes, I'm very excited about Din Tai Fung, I've been man times. The food is so good and will be a great addition to DTD. I have a feeling it's going to be my new go-to!

I wonder what this will do to the price to stay there if they are overhauling and adding direct access to a park like the Grand Californian has. Paradise Pier is currently the "cheapest" of the 3 on property hotels there by a pretty wide margin.
My thought as well. While nice to have park access, it’s really too bad to lose the cheaper onsite option.

Walt Disney Imagineering Files for Demolition of Spirit of Aloha Building at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit that calls for “utility isolation and demo” for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show building and a nearby costuming building. The work is one of the first steps of site preparation for a brand new Disney Vacation Club tower that will sit almost exactly where the dinner show used to be performed. D.H. Griffen Wrecking Co, Inc. is listed as the contractor for the demolition.

Disney World Railroad Tunnel Continues to Take Shape Under TRON Lightcycle Run Attraction at Magic Kingdom

Right now, the railroad track ends at the Storybook Circus station as Disney works on the tunnel. Here’s a look at the roof of the tunnel on the Storybook Circus side of the construction site.

Moving to the Tomorrowland/Space Mountain side of the construction site, we can see that crews are still working on erecting walls for the tunnel, and they have not been able to construct the roof just yet.

Walt Disney Pictures’ “Haunted Mansion,” is based on Disney’s classic theme parks attraction and starring a star-studded ensemble cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield “Knives Out,” Tiffany Haddish “Bad Trip,” Owen Wilson Marvel’s “Loki,” Danny DeVito “Jumanji: The Next Level,” Rosario Dawson “Zombieland: Double Tap” and Chase Dillon “The Underground Railroad.” The film was directed by Justin Simien “Bad Hair,” “Dear White People” and produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich “Aladdin.” Nick Reynolds “Easter Sunday” and Tom Peitzman “The Lion King” are the executive producers.

In this mysterious adventure, a doctor (Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Haddish) and a crotchety historian (DeVito).

Really, they put 'Knives Out' as Lakeith Stanfield's reference - uhhh, how about Get Out? LOL

They can’t build that tunnel fast enough. I really miss the train. I think I’m more looking forward to the train returning than tron opening. Anyone have an educated guess on the RR? 😀 🚂

Mmhhh, am I the only one that would prefer a less "star-studded" ensemble? Maybe I'm just too inlove with the idea of a Guillermo del Toro version haha :jumping1:

It looks so narrow. A tunnel will be kinda cool though, maybe some lighting at night? Although Tron looks like some impressive lighting anyway, so probably not needed.
