Disney needs to address this with pre-payments on their resorts

It is absolutely ridiculous that I can't apply online a $400 gift card that my husband got me today to our room only reservation at CSR. I will actually have to call in just to pay on my balance. Good grief. :sad2:
Yes, I agree. I don't understand what the issue is, but it's such a waste of everyone's time that we have to call in to make payments.

Unfortunately, My Disney Experience and your Resort reservation don't really talk. You can always stop by the Front Desk with your gift card and load it onto your room! :)

In the past, I have been able to make payments online. I can't do it now. Thought it was just me. I wasn't even able to do it using the automated phone system, they wanted to transfer me to an operator.

I just paid for my trip at CSR online last week, using a credit card though.
No issues.
Used a computer not the app. Is that the difference, anyone know? :flower3:

A decade ago, you had the option of paying on line for both packages and room only. Then somewhere around 2013/14, they removed the option for room only, forcing you to call in. No clue as to why. It's really annoying

You also can't cancel a room only reservation online. You have to call for that too. Disney really is way behind the times with this stuff. I wonder why they want to continue to pay people to answer phones to handle these things rather than just make it something customers can do themselves online.

I have done this before, is this a new policy now?

If you dont pay the balance do they just charge you at the resort?

I just cancelled my room-only online 2 days ago when I got a better deal booking through a 3rd party. I had to go through "modify" to find cancel.

when you call to make a payment, it's all through the automated system. It really is not a problem and doesn't put you into a queue as a "live" call would. It's not hard.
This. I’ve had no problem using the automated system when paying by credit card. I also pay in full before going and use GF cards to pay for room charges when I’m there. Very easy.

The balance on a room-only reservation is charged to the CC on file very early in the morning of checkin day, like 1:00 or 2:00 or 6:00 AM, I can’t remember exactly. I’m not familiar with packages.

You definitely can cancel room only. I just did it last week.

Okay. I needed to do it a few weeks ago for a Disneyland Hotel reservation. There was absolutely no way to do it online. I had booked it online. When I called, I asked, and the CM confirmed it could only be done over the phone. Even my email confirmation and reservation page said "call us to modify or cancel this reservation" and then gave a phone number.
