So I just got this email from Disney and I am signed up for 9/1. It says this in the email

If you would be willing to move your current arrival date, 09/01/2010, to September 6th, please let us know by June 15th.

Why? Does anyone have any idea why they would want me to switch? I already know 9/1 is a dwindling number of arrivals and will not be getting roommate matches, I also heard that Catham and Patterson are also running out of 2 bedroom rooms and mostly 4's are left. What could be the reason for this email? Should I switch? If it helps any I am going to be doing Custodial.

I actually got the same e-mail except my arrival date was August 8th for attractions. I sent one back explaining that I couldn't because I had already made non-refundable flight reservations and issues with having my apartment lease ending the beginning of August because that is when I planned on going to Florida. I have yet to hear anything back.

I called - if you don't want to change, do nothing.

I arrive 8/11 and got the same e-mail

What apartments are available has no impact on you or any other Fall program person. You guys are going to be moving into apartments that are currently occupied by people on the Spring Advantage program.

Spring Advantage ends in early August. Fall program begins mid August.

Plus unless that information is coming directly from someone at Housing, I would dismiss it. They have a certain number of apartments available for each arrival day. Someone who just arrived could be reporting on what options they were given on their specific arrival day.

Without having seen disney's complete message, it looks like something that they have done in the past. they are basically saying, "Hey. We have this date available as an option now. If you want it, let us know."

I got the same e-mail. I thought maybe they NEEDED people to switch, so I asked them why they asked me and they said it was just a new option available to us and we can keep our arrival dates if we want. It's nothing specific about you, just an option. :)
