ok well seeing im at 3months and 6days away I think i figuered out something to do.

I want to make a list of disney movies. That i want to eathier resee or try to get my son to watch. Now warning im not in to oldie movies to much lol but I would still love some clasics on this list some i havent even seen may be good for family time and I may enjoy it.

I know I want to watch
1 beauty and the beast.
2 hunchback of Notra dam
3 peter pan (what more says disney then tink and pter fighting hook) (tick tick tick):happytv:
4 Anistasia (a fav of mine)

so if you were putting togetehr a list what would you add.Oh grate dissers :worship:

For the record, Anastasia was not released by Disney. Doesn't mean it's a bad film, just that Disney didn't release it.

Frankly, I would try and watch as many of the classics as you can before you go. If time is short, I would focus on these films in addition to the ones you mentioned.

1. Sleeping Beauty. Be sure to pay attention to how the characters act because their in park counterparts are a joy to watch when you realize how in character they are.

2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. See above.

3. Pinocchio (if you can find it). A wonderful film that even has a ride. It hasn't been released on DVD for years though, so it may be tough to find.

4. Dumbo. Just a fun film and it ties into two Fantasyland attractions.

5. Pirates of the Carribean 1 & 3. It's really fun to realize just how much of the first film was influenced by the Disneyland attraction. Likewise, look for the old park audio that is heard right from the ride in #3.

Try and watch movies that inspired the rides... on another note.....

Just curious as to what movie was the inspiration for the most # of rides at DLR?

The only ones I can think of are Dumbo and Alice in Wonderland which have 2 rides each...

Any more? Past and present rides ok!

I would definately add movies that are also rides, like:
Dumbo, Pinocchio, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, POTC (1,2, and 3), Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Sword and the Stone, The Jungle Book, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Monsters Inc., Sleeping Beauty, Roger Rabbit, Bugs Life, etc.

Storybookland Canal ride has many "homes" from many movies, so you really cant go wrong.

HTH!!

I don't really consider Disneyland to have a Sword in the Stone attraction. The carousel may be named for King Arthur, but the artwork on the carousel is from Sleeping Beauty. So I guess one could argue that Sleeping Beauty has 2 attractions as well(and possibly 3 if the walk through returns).

well intresting I could of sworn anistasia was disney its also on the disney cd i got with a bunch of disney music and says Disneys anistasia next to it..idk but alright lol.

Jade, the 1997 animated film Anastasia was made by Fox Animation Studios. I remember it well because at the time Fox Animation was located here in Phoenix and my dh was applying for a position there while they were making this film.

Just to add some classics that you may not have considered (and many of which can be borrowed from the library):

Robin Hood
Make Mine Music
Fun & Fancy Free
Melody Time
Swiss Family Robinson
101 Dalmations
Mary Poppins
Pete's Dragon
The Rescuers
Walt Disney Treasures - Disney Rareties (has Ferdinand the Bull and Lambert the Sheepish Lion -- two of my alltime favorites)

That should keep you busy for a while. ;)

Mr Toad is cute. You can find it with Ichabod Crane.
We are taking DMIL this year for her 1st visit. So DD is lending her all of the movies that relate to DL/DCA. Don't forget Brother Bear and Bugs Life as alot of DCA is based on that movie.

I wonder if you're thinking of the movie FANtasia rather than Anastasia? Anastasia movie doesn't have a thing to do with Disney.

As a musical in the vein of Disney animated features, the film is notable for being one of Bluth's most critically acclaimed works, and for being one of the few animated features produced in the 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio. (The film is officially credited as using CinemaScope per Bluth's wishes, but the format is actually a regular anamorphic film and did not use CinemaScope optics, which had been retired for 30 years by the release of Anastasia.[citation needed])
