Disney Movies

well actuely its not on the disney cd its on the anistasia cd and next to a jorny to the past it says disneys anistasia. .
See he even saw it im not crazy lol it is very intresting.
But hay that list of movies is grate i have never seen so many lol

hi! ive been lurking for a while, and have enjoyed just reading trip reports and topics being discussed (i live near sydney, Australia and im very jealous as everyone is a lot closer to disneyland than i am!! ) but i thought i might be able to help....
i'm not sure about the cd, but the wiki page was saying that the movie was likened to a disney movie
one review actually stated: "Finally, there's a legitimate challenge to Disney. And, while it's unlikely that Twentieth Century Fox's Anastasia will break the Mouse's stranglehold on animated films, it's a good place to start. Anastasia is easily the best non-Disney animated movie in recent memory, and it is good enough to rival such titles as The Lion King and Aladdin. The key is enjoyability and appeal to both adults and children. This degree of magic and energy has been noticeably absent in movies like Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Hercules. Maybe with another studio to push them, Disney will get back on track"
and as stated on amazon reviews : "Twentieth Century Fox's big-money gamble to horn in on Disney's realm is worthy"
hope this helps with the confusion!

also, if you click on the link 'Disney animated features' from that wiki page it will give you a list of disney's movie's

Just to chime in, the conection between the movie Anastasia and Disney is Don Bluth who produced and directed Anastasia…Don Bluth was one
of the chief animators at The Walt Disney Company… and worked on many Disney Movies...then in the early 80’s he left Disney and started his own company, Anastasia being one of his movies by his company not Disney...

Sometime independent CD producers connect Anastasia with Disney… one of these CD being “Just Tracks New Disney Movies”

20th Century Fox owns Blue Sky Studios...which did the movies Ice Age, Robots, Horton Hears a Who.

Just curious as to what movie was the inspiration for the most # of rides at DLR?

I'm going for a bug's life as inspiring the most attractions.

I'm a Pixar fan, I'll admit it (even have a pictorial homage to John Lasseter in my recent photobook, and my son now recognizes Lasseter with the same excitement as he recognizes Mickey when they show either on the TV), and it's amazing how focused he was on Disney even as a kid. Anyone who hasn't, should watch A Pixar Story...I saw it through Comcast On Demand, on Starz HD. From the book that made him realize people got paid to animate, to his job while at Cal Arts (founded by Walt, I learned from that movie), to the courses he took from the 9 old men, to his first animation job, and so on.

OK I'll shush.

DS just watched Cinderella again, so that's a good one.

And yesterday was the day DS felt should be POTC trilogy day (that was a bit much), which are also good.

Aladdin.

And all the Pixars. :goodvibes

I love all the ones already mentioned, and I also love "The Ugly Dachsund" :happytv: and all the Haley Mills ones, "Pollyanna", "The Parent Trap", "That Darn Cat", "Summer Magic" and "The Moon Spinners." My oldest grandson enjoys them, too, he has a bit of a crush on Haley :flower3: ...if only he knew how old she is now! Ha! Ha! :rotfl:

bumbershoot, there's nothing wrong with being a Pixar fan. To be brutally honest, Pixar's success is because they actually try to follow Walt Disney's model for making movies. Somewhere along the line, Disney decided that Walt had been dead for decades and that they had a better idea of how to make movies, which of course led to movies that flopped. Fortunately, Iger realized this and went bought Pixar so JL could help teach the suits how to be Disney again.

Have you watched The Pixar Story? They've been part of, contracting with, helping out on Disney movies, since they started, pretty much. It was quite interesting to find that out! And even before then, the software and hardware the group that became Pixar was helping with their movies (Rescuers Down Under and Beauty and the Beast were mentioned). :goodvibes

My kids favorites are Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Enchanted. Have fun, I love Disney movies. Just waiting for Cinderella to be released from the vault again, would love to get it for DD.

If I'm not mistaken, the Anniversary Platinum DVD just went back into the vault.

Oh, ok. It says that Cinderella is in stock on Amazon, so maybe they are just selling the ones they have left.

One of my most favorite films, is "Something Wicked This Way Comes" starring Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd, Royal Dano, Vidal Peterson, Shawn Carson, Mary Grace Canfield, amongst other actors as well, the film was released in 1983.
It is based upon Ray Bradburys novel, by the same title, which was published in 1962.
It is a most excellent movie, in my opinion, interestingly enough, although it is a Disney Movie, it was not available, the last time that I had looked at the Disney movie club, the name of it,(the club) is to that affect. Now that is weird, I think, one can find it, however through other sources on line.

Tom Fury: Some folks draw lightning to them as a cat to baby's breath!
One can find out more about it here

I equally love Hocus Pocus as well! Gotta love totally those Sanderson gals!

How about Finding Nemo inspired rides: Submarines,Crush Turtle Talk and the Jelly Fish ride?

Summing up (movies with more than one attraction inspired)...

Alice in Wonderland: Alice ride, Tea Cups
Toy Story: Astro Blasters, TSMM
POTC: POTC, Pirates' Lair
Bug's Life: WHeel, ladybug spinning ride, matchboxes,
chewchew train, did i forget any?
Aladdin: Aladdin Show at DCA, Aladdin Storytelling at DL
Dumbo: Dumbo Flying Elephant, Casey Train (I think)
BTW, how is Star Wars related to Disney? they do have a couple of attractions: Jedi Academy and Star Tours...
( i know i'm missing a bunch???)

While neither the Star Wars nor Indy franchises are technically "Disney" movies - because they have rides at the park I plan on watching them before our trip in March.
Also - remember there is that kind of entertaining "Haunted Mansion" movie with Eddie Murphy - not a great plot but enough references to the ride to make it worth watching just to spot them. "Meet the Robinsons" has no rides at the park or anything, but it has direct quotes from Walt AND a cameo by Space Mountain.....
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a good one if you are a fan of Toontown....
Someone once told me that a scene in "Pollyanna" was filmed at the Main Street train station, or maybe I dreamed that??
"Mary Poppins" always always puts me in a Disneyland mood, and particularly reminds me of Main Street. :lovestruc
We own an old VHS "Sing Along Songs" movie called "Disneyland Songs" I doubt it is still in circulation since a lot of it is outdated (I think it was produced in the late '80s?) but I have seen it for rent in the family section of my local video store. Now parts of it are really campy, but it has a REAL Disneyland vibe! :thumbsup2

Oyah, that's right Grumpy'sWife, some movies not technically originally Disney but inspired on rides (as far as I know)...
Tim Burton's Nightmare Before CHristmas on Haunted Mansion Holiday, POTC, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, hmmm, think that's it...

Besides those, Enchanted does capture a lot of Disney Princess classic themes & ideas...
I think everyone pretty much hit all the classics already, so I might add that in the bonus section of Enchanted DVD it summarizes parts of the movie that captures some of the themes... From my own observation, I noticed it had a little element of Mary Poppins feel in it too... :)

How about:

Splash Mountain and "Song of the South."

Tarzan's Treehouse - 'Tarzan" (Although I personally liked it better when it was the "Swiss Family Treehouse.")
