I am a little frustrated right now, I booked my hubbys and I's anniversary back on March 5 for Aug 27 thru Sept 1 when there was a free dining offer, I did upgrade to deluxe dining, well I called Disney today to make a payment on my account and the gentleman I was speaking too got looking at my reservation and realized they never did the free dining with only a upgrade charge for the deluxe they were charging me for the whole thing. He got a supervisor involved found luckily I had a pin attached to my name that knocked 700.00 off my balance, they were nice enough to compare the dining difference versus that pin I had and gave me the better deal, now don't get me wrong I was very happy to have the 700.00 off my bill but I was frustrated that they had missed it especially since I had booked the day the free dining became available

Did removing the $700.00 from the reservation make you whole again? Where does the frustration come in? :confused3

That's why you (not YOU OP, but the general you/readers) always should check your confirmation e-mail or the one you get in the mail. They usually repeat the entire deal back to you on the phone before they book it too. So, make sure they repeat the discount you expect and the price you expect before you agree to it. That's what the website is good for - you can price out your trip without adding a dining plan, and that's the price you should expect to pay when you get free dining. There is a sticky thread with upcharge info on the Dining Plan board, too so you can figure out exactly what the extra cost would be.

The good thing is it's all fixed. Don't dwell on the negative, be happy it all turned out in the end. :goodvibes Have a great trip!

the frustration came in as I have called in multiple times to make payments at least every other week for 4 months and no one noticed it, the free dining was repeated back to me on the phone which is why I thought it was there, I have always traveled to Disney during the peak summer season so I have never had a discount before. Thanks for the info I will know what to look for in the future. My point in posting this was so others would be aware to watch their reservations closely they did see the free dining in the notes on my account it had just never been applied even the disney employee on the phone was confused how it was noted but not applied.

All is good though I was very happy to have the mistake fixed.

That's what makes me just a little nervous this year. For our April 2013 trip, I'm going to have to call in for a ressie as I'm going to be responsible for booking 3 rooms for 9 people.

In the past I have always just did my ressies on line.

That first reply was a little snarky I must say. The OP was just venting about a recent experience, cut him/her a break....

:flower3:

I understand the OPs irritation.

I recently added the Dining Plan to our already booked package. The first CM seemed to have trouble finding the right code and eventually sorted it out, but it was only when I glanced at the comfirmation email that came through later that I saw she'd dropped us from Garden View to Standard View. This hadn't been read out to me on the phone.

It was sorted out with another phone call but as I'm calling from Australia it was certainly NOT convenient to have to call back and fix their error.

I thought it was odd that just adding the Dining Plan to an existing package was so complicated but I guess it's all abut the "codes" ?

Yikes :scared1: Glad you got it sorted out. When I book (always by phone) I do price it out on the WDW web site to get an idea of what the price should be.
Then I phone after a while just to check, to make sure every things ok, and my requests are noted on my reservation when I phone to make a payment.
