Disney merchandise!

From a corporate standpoint, they've done a horrendous job getting products on the shelves. There are tons of people dying to give them their money for Frozen merchandise. They are missing out on ridiculus amounts of revenue - on their highest margin products, no less. If I were a major shareholder, I'd be very unhappy. Whoever is responsible for merchandise, should probably be looking for a new job.

I agree. I'm watching Frozen for the first time as I type this. Evidently Disney was blindsided by the success of these characters and the associated merchandise. They've had a similar sitch with the Dooney & Bourke HM purses. In the case of the D&B, there may be an argument to be made about "limited edition", but with the Frozen stuff it's all made for pennies in China and the profit margins must be astronomical. Somebody is FIRED!

I think the merchandize had a slow initial start in sales back in Nov. When we went to DW and cruise in December 10-21 we thought we'd just wait to get back to a Canadian disney store and pick things up there. We managed to snag the Anna/Elsa doll set and a couple of t-shirts in Canada in late December, but we couldn't find anything else.

CM at Disney Store said they were completely sold out of Frozen stuff, and they had not expected it to be that successful. Really - a new princess movie just before Christmas and you don't think it would be that successful.

But CM told us that there would be a re-launch of the merchandize and plenty by the time the DVD/Blu-ray is out in MARCH 2014.

Things got sold out within hours in MARCH. On Disney store dot come I tried putting dresses in cart and by the time I was going to pay for it, it said sold out.

That's pretty bad - Disney should have a timer on the items in the cart. If you don't pay within 5 minutes the items should be removed out of the cart. But we're talking seconds. How can an item go into your cart and then at check out it's gone? They need to fix their website.

So they didn't manufacture enough after December even when they knew it was a HUGE success, and when you finally think you have it in your cart on their website and want to pay for it someone else snags it.

And Disney knows that people are selling Anna and Elsa costumes on ebay for over $200 because of the high demand.
