I am heading to Disney this spring and am going to propose to the love of my life. Any ideas/suggestions as to a really cool/romantic place to do it? Thanks!

Maybe if you met in disney, you could do it there.

You can do it in a secluded area outside of a hotel.

Maybe if you guys are comfortable, in front of a favorite park, like magic
kingdom.

that's where my brother did it.

goodluck & congratulations!

love,
chrissy

Right smack in front of Cinderella's Castle!

Years ago my cousin was proposed to in Disney. Her boyfriend somehow arranged for Chip and Dale to present her with the ring! I'm not sure how to go about something like that, but maybe you could call Disney and ask. I think in front of the castle would definitely be the most romantic setting. Good luck!

Well, what does the love of your life like? Does she have something special that she likes most about Disney?

When I worked at TDS, we had someone come in looking for a glass slipper. Their son was going to propose to his girlfriend, who loved Cinderella, and he was going to present the ring in the glass slipper at Cinderella's royal banquet.

We had ressie's for CRT and he proposed in the castle at lunch time before lunch!! Cindi made a huge deal, ringing the bells, making a big announcement! Servers threw confetti and gave us a special gift!

We were n Disney Jan 4-10 and we saw a couple during Wishes (she was on a bench, he was on his knees) they were located on the path from Tomorrow land to the ice cream parlor, just under the spot that timkerbell flies.... I thought that was the most romantic spot... was quiet not crowded at all... and the fireworks just topped it off..

Wow - that could have been my brother (and my now future sis-in-law!) :sunny: Except, of course, that we were there in October...

Still - so romantic, and she was just GLOWING when we met them ooutside the park that night! (My toddler decided to pick that night to be scared of fireworks!!!)
Awesome...
Congratulations in advance!

OH that would be sooooo romantic! If she has a disney character she loves, maybe you could work them in somehow. Disney will do anything and everything they can to make magical moments magical memories. I am envious of her already! Congratulations :goodvibes

We saw a couple getting engaged in front of the Wishing Well on the side of the Castle. It was so pretty, quiet and romantic. The birds were singing...very pretty. I think it is a nice site. The ring was in a glass slipper box. I took their photo for them after she said YES!!!!

I was at the F&W Festival in Oct. 2004 and watching a street performers show in the UK. Those of you who have been there know the troupe. This time they were acting out "My Fair Lady" and the woman picked from the audience aNd playing "Eliza" had to choose at the end which prince to be with. At that point they asked "Unless there is someone else in the audience?"
Well this man jumps out and gets on his knee and presents her with an absolutely gorgeous diamond! She was stunned and everyone watching was cheering and yelling say yes! It was great and they had someone video taping the entire thing.
Good luck! :lovestruc

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas! Definately food for thought. There is no one Disney character or place she is most enamoured about. It's just such a magical place in general that I thought it'd be a great place to propose.

I have friends who were engaged at CRT. It was a pretty big deal, then they took a cruise for Illuminations.

If you have big bucks, Disney has different programs you can do...including having Mickey and Minnie present.

So many romantic spots and methods! :)

I like the idea of proposing in a private spot (as private as possible) with fireworks. To me, that would just be a perfect exclamation mark! :tink:

I got engaged at WDW a few years ago. We were at the Polynesian on the beach watching the fireworks.

At the Board Walk Villas they have those little "houses" with the bedrooms upstair. The bedroom windows face epcot for the fireworks. If your looking for a private romantic way to ask. Those are perfect!!

my DD and her DBF were at Disney in aug (it was there 5 yr anniversasry of going together) and all her friends were saying oooohhh hes going to ask you that nite.

well that nite came and went DD had a small hissy fit--while she was in there room DBF calls and asks for DH he asked for her hand!!!

he had the best plan--he had everything set and took her back in sept just for a quick trip she didnt know she was going until they were at the airport going to there gate(they were supposely taking a friend of theirs)

we had almost a slip up which we covered with saying he got you a brick!!
(a fellow DIS'er said I should find a place that will engrave a brick and have it made to look like disneys then shell have her brick too))

he popped the big ? by Teppanki since thats where they ate the nite of their anniversary.

I was thinking of her all day and when she called at nite she goes Im engaged!!! by this time she knew we were in on it!!

so we were both on the phone in tears!!!

they are getting married 8-*05-06

we are so happy to have him as a DSIL

congrats to you

Last May a guy asked the love of his life just at the end of Wishes fireworks at MK. Made me cry. And I did not even know them. :lovestruc :lovestruc

I proposed to my wife during the finale of wishes. We were on the path leading toward Adventureland with a great view of the castle. It worked out quite nicely. Every time we hear the music or are watching wishes again, we always share a little glance. We've had our picture taken at "our spot" each time we've been back.

In Epcot: You could use the gazebo located in the UK garden area.
Or- You could ask her in the sculpture area in Italy. Any chance of the honeymoon being in one of these real places? Ask her in that land.

Near MK - try renting a boat ride and asking her on board the ship. Then the honeymoon could be a disney cruise later on a bigger boat!
They have a Wishes cruise I think!

In MK - Tom Sawyer's Island....explore the caves and such...sit on the porch. Or on the train?

MGM- During Fantasmic? (but too crowded I think)

Animal Kingdom - There are many beautiful settings of benches etc in out of the way places.....look for them.

Many of the Resorts have wonderfully romantic spots.....Wilderness Lodge, Poly, GF, etc. You could book dinner ressies for afterwards. Whipsering Canyon or Victoria & Alberts would be great. Have the chef hide the ring in the dessert or something. I am sure they would do this for you.

MHO is that the timing needs to be not "too loud" or busy/distracting. I think a bit more secluded, away from hustle/bustle of crowds would make for a more memorable proposal. The crowds would be distracting and you wouldn't your memory interrupted by a parent yelling at a child, or someone becoming ill nearby, etc.

You could perhaps hint before the ring...by giving her a wrapped present of a mickey minnie figurine of them in the bride/groom outfits......tell her it is for the cake if she says yes.
