Disney Marriage Proposal

Does the love of your life like the tropics? How about proposing at the Polynesian.... at O'hana's during dinner....by the windows...while the night-time fireworks show "Wishes" is going on? They dim the lights in the restaurant and pipe in the "Wishes" music....lovely atmosphere. Possibly you could arrange beforehand to have your waiters deliver you a special dessert with champagne afterwards.
....at that later time....the kids are quieter....and it's a lovely view of the fireworks and castle :love2:

I suggest either one of the fireworks cruises at Magic Kingdom or Epcot.

At Cinderellas Royal Table, this restaurant on the second floor of the castle would be very romantic. During breakfast the princesses will come to the table. Maybe you could have Cinderella bring the ring to the table.

How about a romantic dinner at the California Grill. Located on the top floor of the Contemporary Hotel, this restaurant offers a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

One of the beaches at Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge.

my fiance did it infront of Cinderella's Castle at night while they were taking our picture infront of the castle. beware tho.....if they take your picture make ABSOUTLY SURE that you buy all of the photos then and there, don't even bother using the photopass afterwards. they took about 9 photos of us and told us we could wait to buy more when we got home and they ended up losing every picture of us. we only had the one package we bought while we were there.

anyway i loved it needless to say! it was cute too because people were all around us and i could hear gasps and people saying "look! look!" and people clapped, almost like a movie! lol.

During the Wishes in front of the castle. It's pretty magical at night.

I got engaged at WDW a few years ago. We were at the Polynesian on the beach watching the fireworks.

I think that would be so romantic!!! My husband and I watched the fireworks from the beach of the Poly on our honeymoon and it was breathtaking. And a little more private than, say, Wishes in MK at full capacity!!

I must say, she is going to be so happy and excited no matter what you decide, and she is one lucky lady!! Congrats and good luck! :thumbsup2

We got engaged on Main Street during the New Years Eve fireworks a couple of years ago. I liked that it was both in public and private because no one else knew what was going on. I think the the wishing well is a great idea or if she isn't particularly in love with Disney what about one of the Resort restaurants that has a castle view? I know that you can their weddings and honeymoon phone line and get it all set up in advance for a fee.

Good luck!!

Am I ever glad I found this post lol. I can help you out tons. Not only am I a wedding planner but my husband proposed to me in Epcot during our last visit in 2003. Bascially what happened was this:

We were sitting around about 30 mins before Illuminations started and we were talking. Next thing I know my husband grabs his bag he was carying pulled out a ring box got down on 1 knee and opened the box and said Teresa, marry me? LOL. It was so cute and funny. As soon as I put my ring on some complete stranger walked up and was like OMG, OMG, OMG you're getting engaged, hunny you need a picture! LOL. I was like omg. So my husband handed her our camera and redid the whole proposal while the lady took our pic. After that she was like congrats and all of a sudden a whole bunch of people just started looking and smiling at us while they walked past. About 15 mins later, Illuminations started.

If you need some ideas, I have some for ya. You can email me and I can give you some ideas.

We've had our picture taken at "our spot" each time we've been back.

My Hubby and I met on a singles trip from our church back in 1983. We were stopped at the bridge in EPCOT for quite a few minutes waiting for fireworks displays to pass through. This is where we first struck up a conversation. And we had been there alllll day with the group. He was very quiet all day as he didn't know any of us and was new to our church.

Anyway, we talked and talked. We were both tired of having bad relationships, and just wanted someone to hang out with, without having the pressures of dating etc. YUKKA YUKKA!!

3 weeks later I had a promise ring. He left for Navy bootcamp and I planned a wedding. The day he got back to Florida after bootcamp and "A" school, we went shopping for my ring. We made it official.

We honeymooned at WDW and spend every anniversary there. One of our things we have to do is have our picture taken at the bridge each anniversary. And when we are just at EPCOT for a visit we always stop at that bridge and kiss. It is our "magical spot".

Blessings and magical memories,
Winnie
