Hi! I've never done a pre-trip report so hopefully this turns out ok!
Me? I'm in my 30's love cafes, sweets and travel and have been going to WDW almost every year since I was born.
I now live in Japan next to Tokyo Disney Resort with my darling husband who used to be a Tokyo DisneySea CM and my energetic 4 year old son! Sadly my husband can not make it to the US this time because of work so it will just be ds and me on the flight over. We are looking forward to some warm weather when we go mid March since it's still quite cold here! Of course warm weather means taking out all our summer and spring clothes early but it needed to be done anyways right?
Keep it simple?
This is the first trip as a family staying at WDW where I'm doing the planning by myself which is an interesting experience. WDW has much lower crowds and wait times than Tokyo Disney Resort so I have to keep reminding myself not to over do things. Being there at rope drop for WDW does not mean getting up at 6am to get a good position in line lol. With WDW the size and travel time was a really big factor to take into consideration in terms of planning and since we will stay only four days this trip I would prefer to avoid park hopping. I'm still not sure if all our dining plans will work out ok and would really love to fit in an afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian so lets keep our fingers crossed!
My husband managed to find a way for my to use my phone (the new Disney android phone of course!) and Ipad overseas which is great because there are lots of apps you can use from organizing reservations to ride times which will be really useful. All in all things seem to have worked out so far with regards to planning!
Where to stay?
Growing up I've stayed at almost all the resorts with a special fondness for the Polynesian and ds won't remember because he was so tiny but he stayed at the Grand Floridian for his first birthday with his grandparents. This trip though I chose the Caribbean Beach for the pirate rooms since the summer program at Tokyo Disneyland will be pirates this year and the new sentai/power rangers show is also pirates themed, very exciting for him! Even if he is a little frightened of the actual attraction at the moment!
What to bring to the parks?
As I pack and start thinking about what we will need for the WDW part of our trip this has been a pretty big concern. What kind of bag to bring and what needs to go inside? Hmmm... Still thinking but I have to decide soon. For now back to packing and maybe an ice cream break!
