I just read a thread about Magic at WDW and reminded me of some Magic that I would like to share!!!!!! Sorry this is long but worth it!!!!

This story starts when my DS was about 2 when we he went to WDW for his second time. He was really into Sorcerer, he loved Fantasmic. So we bought him a Sorcerer Mickey hat. When we got home my mother-in-law made him a Sorcerer's cape and he loved it. So we thought it would be great for him to wear it on our next trip which brings me to my story

We too our DS 3 and DD 6 mons to our first trip home at BWV in March 04. We made the mistake of bringing our DS on Snow White's Scary Adventure and he got scared and did not want to go on any rides or really see anything. We thought we ruined his trip.

The next day we went to MGM and our son was wearing his Sorcerer's cape and hat we went to Play House Disney to hopefully let him see that things would be alright. He had a blast. It was about 10 am when we got out. We knew that the characters came out at 10 am on Mickey Way. So we thought it would be great to get Sorcerer Mickey and my son's picture together with his costume on.

As we started to walk down Mickey Way we noticed there was not a sole on the road and we headed straight for Mickey. We could hear the cast members saying how cute as we walked closer. We got about 50 yards from where Mickey was and he was outside. He turned around and saw our son and he started to run towards him and when he got up to him he gave him a big hug Mickey appeared to be so happy to see him in the costume. They walked back hand and hand to the picture area. My son had the biggest smile on his face so did his Mom and Dad as well as his grandmother. We all took photos and told Mickey that my mother-in-law had made the costume and he gave her a big hug. This little photo-op turned out to be the highlight of our trip and really made my our son's trip. So there is always a place to find Magic at WDW world for everyone and without DVC we might not have been on that great trip to WDW.

Please consider sending your story to WDW. (You can probably phone MS and ask for an appropriate name and address, or even pull an email address off the WDW web site.)

The cast member playing Mickey went out of his (or her) way to do something special for your DS and it gave you a memory that will last a lifetime. This makes your story absolutely priceless for WDW's customer service and character trainers, who will use it to coax the very best performance out of their new trainees.

They might even be able to trace back and find out who the castmember was, and put a note on his or her performance evaluation.

It is stories like that that can give any fan a huge chill! I think we all secretly hope to have similar magic on our trips.

Hi,

What a great story!!

Allison

It'd be great to see a picture with your story in Vacation Magic!

I agree, send it in!

Bless your heart for sharing such a lovely story. I too encourage you to send your story to Disney. So often those characters go out of their way to make our trip so special and they certainly do deserve our grateful recognition.

We also made the mistake of taking our then 2 year old on Snow White's Scarey Adventury on his first trip to Disney World. I thought the trip was in the toilet when he wouldn't take his head out of his father's shirt any time we entered a building. When I was a little girl, I was terrified from that ride in Disneyland and still that's the first thing I took my child on. We all need therapy.

xoxoxo Susan
