Disney Magic Preview Cruise 10/21 sailing

Thank you for the great report! So it sounds like there isn't any way to wait in your car for your test results?

At animators was it the crush as show or the drawing come to life show?

Any characters at the meals? I saw characters come through the dining room on other ships, I was hoping the same would happen at lumieres?

Thanks again! We leave a week from today!!

Sadly no, DCL doesn't have their own parking garage the way they do at Canaveral so no way to do the testing in cars.

Animators had the drawing show. The other restaurants did have Characters (Mickey & Friends at Lumiers)

Miami does not have a dedicated Disney parking area or terminal, so they cannot use the same procedures. It's a little unusual for them to use terminal C, and I wonder if part of it was because of having more room for testing.

If you do cruise on Magic out of Miami, my recommendation is to park on the ground level of the garage if possible. When the bus brings you back to Garage G after the cruise, there were a lot of people waiting for the VERY slow elevator. Some people began carrying heavy suitcase up stairs. I just went up to get our car and drive it down to pick up my party & luggage.

Thank you for sharing!
We are considering a last minute booking on the Magic for November. She was our first Disney ship and still our favorite. :lovestruc:cloud9:

I'm cruising on the Magic this Thursday, so thanks for the preview. Can you describe Halloween-related theming snd activities? Was there a certain day or evening indicated to wear one's costume? Any Halloween-themed merchandise?

There was no Halloween anything. I think since she returned so close to Oct 31st, they must have decided not to spend the $ to decorate for just 1-2 cruises back.

I really hope that changes. We are leaving on Halloween and it was advertised as a Halloween on the high sees cruise. I'm not too concerned about merchandise and decorations, but was there a mousequerade party, characters in costumes, or candy left for the kids?

It is entirely possible that they will and just didn't do it for the test cruises.

Our cruise is a HOTHS cruise, so there had better be Halloween decorations & activities. Otherwise it's false advertising.

Thank you for the information!

So if you arrive by Uber/Lyft etc, were you aware if drop off was in a different designated spot?

POM has pretty good signage. Just look carefully for the terminal where the Magic is docked. There will be a drop-off area in front of the terminal.

We sail the 18th for the first time in Miami. Will the cruise always require you to take the bus you mentioned? Are you able to tip the porters who took the bags? What about the bus driver…do you tip he/she? Our PAT is 10:30am with boarding #2. Is it advised to show 10-15 mins early? Thanks!

I have no way of knowing if they will always require the bus, I guess that depends if they continue to use Garage G. The ship leaves from Terminal C, so I suppose there is a chance they could switch to Garage C at some point.

I'd say arriving 10-15 min early is a good idea, gives you enough time to drop off bags, park, and bus ride/walk up to the terminal. They only checked PAT when you walked in, so worst case, you can just kill a few min sitting in your car until it's your time to walk up.

Yes, we tipped the porters. That process is basically the same as any other cruise.

Thanks!!! Another question do you know if they sell Evian water in the cooler bags or just Dasani?
