I was it was a crazy day. I even had to take the kids to the dentist in the middle of the day then bring them back to school.. This week is totally nuts for me. I can not wait for Friday to come. We were thinking about going to NYC this weekend but I am afraid that I am going to be too tired now to go. Plus, it is supposed to get wicked cold by the weekend!!!!

I thought I would share with you a photo of the lights I put out this year. It's totally different then what I have done in the past. Sometimes simple is better! The tree in the front window is usually bigger, we just put out the slim tree. That's usually in the family room. If you look beside the tree, both sides, you can kind of see our 2 dogs! LOL And of course, my Mickey Wreath on the door.

I came home to a message from Costco reminding to bring a copyright release when I come to pick up my cards tomorrow LOL. Good thing I printed one and put in my purse already.

We used to be able to do so much when Colton was little, then in the last 2 years, they have really been stricked with the treats. It got to where the school would supply a snack for school parties..either ordering Pizzas....one of the local places works well/close with the school for parties and fundraisers......or the cafeteria staff would make cup/cakes for the class to have. It used to be you could send in candy treats for the treat bags, not any more. You can send toys, pencils, paper, etc. I "think" they said this year you could send in granola bars, fruit snacks, or other single serve items like that...but it can't be a peanut product or junk food. Sheesh.... They don't even have a Halloween party anymore!! Now it's Fall Festival with the same things every year. A hayride on a tractor, a candle maker, an axe thrower, a story teller, apple butter making. It was fun the first time, but after 6 years of it?? YAWN! All because we had a few families that didn't celebrate. Okay, that's fine, I understand, but make other arrangements for the day or have a teacher stay in a classroom with those children so the rest can celebrate!

Stepping off my soapbox! LOL The whole thing just rubbed me wrong!

I made pumpkin pies tonight. LOL I made 2 to take to my sisters and had one piece out of them!

I must tell you. Bruce's work is doing this twelve days of Christmas thing where everyday you bring in a different food item for the food pantry.. SO they wrote the memo based on the 12 days of Christmas. One day is says bring in a canned good like Spam. Bruce was reading it and was laughing, he said, "Did Denis send this memo." It was too funny that they listed Spam as one of the itmes you could bring in....!!!!!!!!!! I went and got the items today and sorry but I did not buy Spam!!!!!!!!!

Awe, thanks Erika! There are STILL days I pull into this neighborhood and just can't believe how blessed we are! We both never dreamed of being able to have a house like this.

I hear ya Michele, We have kids who do not celebrate birthdays now the school has that child leave the room since it is not fair to the rest of the kids.. !!!!!!!!

I totally agree with you Michele on this....it really gets to me also that we have to be accomodating to others so we don't offend......but hello what about the rest of us????????? it offends me that we no longer do these things!!!!!!!! I just don't get it either......all right I'm done now LOL

It could be stress Nancy. Bruce just found out that his company is laying off 200 employees next week. He does not think it will be him but you never know.......I just think it is a really busy week this week so maybe that is it!!???!!!??

I don't think I will be able to take any pics of the outside of our house because we have someone coming on Friday to start prep work to paint the trim!! Oh well, maybe I can post some pics of the inside of our house!!!
