I'm sure either would be great, they both have really cute decor! I did not like the decor at AS Music though, we stayed there for about 8 hours, liked Movies much better.

I'm going to have to take a look at resort pictures so we can decide then!!!!
even choosing restaurants is hard to do with so many choices available! wow

Especially since you have to book dining 6 months in advance!!! I cannot think that far ahead about dinner.

no kidding!!!!!!! I think that is just way too early to book dinning! they should make it for 3 months maybe?

got to go get the boys!!!!!!! talk to you later!

Good Afternoon, All took a friend to get her car fixed and while it was getting fixed we shopped and had lunch it was FUN. Then went to school to do some stuff and now I have to head back to meet a friend at school.

Hope everyone is having a Great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have too, the reason we want Pop is because of the transportation. We don't want to rent a car this time around so we can save even more...so if we stay on site, then we can go back and forth for free.......

Hmmm...sounds like a good plan. Do you think any of the off-property places have comp trans to the parks? We had thought about maybe doing other stuff (non-disney related) and thought maybe there were comp shuttles etc to the different attractions.

yes, it is a value resort...plus Denis can get it for much cheaper through his work and I am sure you can too?????????

Hmmm...now that sounds great! I'm not sure if I can get any special deal. Never heard of it, but I'll check. Thx for the tip!

Does everyone usually book one of the dining plans??? If so, which one???

Hey Kristin!

We do not book dining, it's too much food for us. And we eat breakfast in the room most of the time.

Some off property places probably do have shuttles, not sure if they are free or not. We never leave property when we are there, we are always busy and just never find the time. I can tell you at the Magic Kingdom, any outside transportation drops you off at the Transportation and Ticket center and you have to take the Ferry or Monorail over. Disney buses drop you right the front gate, which is so much better.
Disney often runs discounts on the resorts, which I think is why Nancy thought you could probably do cheaper than rack rate.

Randy, Here's my 2 cents worth...and with the economy the way it is, it won't get you much.... We have stayed off site, value, moderate and deluxe. It just depends on what you need or what you can afford. Off site has it's advantages....we always stayed in a condo, which meant having a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room, big screen and a washer and dryer. This was nice for the less expensive trips since we could fix 2 meals a day and just eat one meal at the parks. Could take less clothes, since I could do wash in the evenings. As nice as it sounds, do I REALLY want to cook and do wash on MY vacation? No, not really, but it works. My Brother In Law, he always rents a house with a pool. He is a family of 4, but that's the type of vacation they like. As for value, we have only stayed at Pop Century, and we LOVED it! One of the great things about staying there is, the bus line is dedicated to Pop. It makes NO other stops along the way. If you stay at the All Stars Resorts, the bus will stop at all 3. Moderates are nice, just a bit bigger, and they have a fridge included. When we stayed at Pop, we got on a fridge sharing thread, so we had a fridge for free, so that was nice for breakfast items and water bottles. Then there's the deluxe, even more space and bigger beds, and a fridge as well. I feel, when we stay deluxe, we tend to use the hotel more then when we stayed at Pop. We try not to have a Go! Go! Go! vacation when we stay at a deluxe. We slow down and use the resort ammenities more. If I were going to do a commando vacation, go value, your only going to shower and sleep there. If you were going to go a liesurely pace, spending time at the resort, go moderate or deluxe. I think price wise, the mods aren't a whole lot more then a value. Keep in mind that some of the mods are also convention resorts and are HUGE and can be crowded at times. Meal plans....we enjoy and look forward to a sit down table service meal everyday. It's our time to relax, cool off and talk about what we've done and what we'll see. We have done the Magic Your Way Plus dining, which is the Counter, Table and Snack a day, and we have done the Deluxe dining which is 3 meals a day of your choice...counter or table and 2 snacks. For us, the deluxe is too much food. We are not big breakfast eaters, so the Plus dining plan is good for us. However, if you were planning on doing several of the meals that requires 2 table service credits, it might be worth doing the Deluxe plan. Of course, if you are the type that just like to "Grab It and Growl" then the new Quick Service plan might work better! We like being on the plan because it's all prepaid. There's no thinking about how much dinner is going to be or that little worry because Colton ordered something HUGE and isn't going to finish it. For some reason, it just makes meal time more "carefree". Of course, when tips were included, it was even MORE carefree!!
Okay, I have rambled!! LOL I am sure I probably told you more then you want to know and probably stuff you already know! Happy Planning!

The leglamp is too big and cutting off the ticker but it's a classic LOL. Michelle gave me my Timmies cup LOL

Does this size lamp help?

WOW ladies...Have you two ever thought about writing for Disney Travel. I could see this stuff in a travel brochure or something. Good information and thanks for it. Randy

LOL Randy! I have been told that I should be a travel consultant before! However, I think I don't know half of what is Disney. Like the Best Kept Secrets pages. I didn't know a bunch of those facts!

Randy, I forgot about the offsite and transportation.... We almost always rent a car. that way we can go to the store when we want or eat at an offsite restaurant or go shopping at the outlets. We can also go to Universal and Sea World at our pace. However, you could look into the cost of a rental vs calling a taxi. As Erika said, there are probably some hotels that offer shuttle service too, I just don't know what ones. Another thing, if you rent a car, you'll have to budget for tolls on the turnpike and parking at the parks. If you are on onsite guest with a car, there is no fee for parking, offsite guests pay. Another reason we always get a car is, we like to fly into Sanford. Sanford is thier regional airport and Disney doesn't offer Magical Express from there. However, the cost of air plus a rental car has, so far, always been cheaper then getting flights straight into Orlando. (Plus, into Sanford, it's a direct flight) So basically, you'll have to do the math and see what's the best/cheapest/most convenient way to go!

It's funny, we too always rent a car. But we still never leave the property LOL! We use it to drive to Downtown Disney, or the water parks because those are the 2 places we don't like to wait for bus, when wet or loaded with shopping bags LOL.

Erika, we have never been to WDW without a car either. We have used it from everything from groceries, eating out, or going to the ER. (Steve had an attack of gout on our 2nd trip to WDW. We had his sister with us. She and I stayed at the hotel and ordered a pizza while he went. Then we thought the meds were making him sick. Little did we know, he had a stomach virus that I soon got! That flight home was torture!) It's kind of like a security for us, I think. Almost like, when your car is in the shop and you are stuck at home. Suddenly, you can think of 10 places you needed to go today, or one of the kids is sick at school. I just like having a car. We have drove to the parks, waterparks and DTD too! Sometimes, it's just easier. There are nights we have walked to the car, got in and just took a deep breath. It's sort of nice to drive away from the crowds with just US. Not having to share a bus with 100 other people or cram into the monorail after the fireworks. We have done it both ways, but sometimes it's nice to get out of the crowd.

This is just too much to think about...Ugh! Too many decisions. I'm going to have to get motivated and dig in to all the web sites and come up with a good gameplan. Then I need to decide if it's all worth it....

Also, would there be any advantage to going through a TA such as Carol or Dreams????

We have done one trip with no car, with just Steve and I. It was fine, and we never missed it (except to and from the airport, Magical Express is not for me). Another reason we do it is because Alexa get sick in the car pretty much every time we drive to MCO from WDW when it's time to go home, and I'd rather not have that happen on a bus full of people LOL.

I personally have never used a TA and don't think they are necessary. We can help you. October is a very nice month to go hint hint hint.

I think when you use a TA, you just leave it in thier hands to plan the whole thing. We can do that for you! With a TA, she'll plan it all and you just show up. I think you miss too much that way. We LOVE FL in October! Not too hot, not too cold! It's our favorite time of year, but it looks like we won't get to do that for a few years. But that's okay! Once I send them off to college, I'll just go when I want to!
