Oh! that's a great idea!!! But I'm not baking anything until the DQ Birthday Cake is gone! but brownies sound good...and go well with ice cream.....hhhmmm........ I could make the brownies and turn them out of the pan, then use the pan to make the pizzas for dinner!

I didn't know CS had cupcakes! Are they all ice cream or cake on the bottom and ice cream on top? That would be fun treat, wouldn't it? Make cupcakes, but not as high, then top with a scoop of ice cream freeze, then pipe icing on the top? Betty Crocker ain't got nothin' on me! LOL

Well our plans got changed for tonight...We were supposed to go out to Bruce's cousins house and her daughter has a fever so we are home tonight. Just put a whole chicken in and a mac and cheese... Tomorrow, we are going to see Hotel for Dogs and take the kids out to dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW....DL was good yesterday. Arrived at about 8:30AM and stayed until 10:30PM...UGH...what a day!!! Spent about 2 hours in Disneyland and then walked over to California Adventure and only stayed there for about 2 more hours. Then it was back across to Disneyland again where we stayed the rest of the time. Very sore feet and very sore lower back!!!! It rained for around five hours, mostly just a steady light rain with temps around high 40's - low 50's...Oh Boy, Good times!!!! Our two youngest (2 & 4)grandkids were with us and they had a great time...although once they got cold or wet, it was tough to get them warmed up again.

If any of you guys come out here to stay around DL, you have got to stay at the Grand Californian ($$$$). It is literally just feet away from California Adventure. You walk out of the lobby area around 50 feet and you are walking into the park. How cool is that!!!!

Michele,

I noticed in the siggy you have Pop Century listed....How was it? Candy and I are going in August (8/23-8/30) and have thought it would be a possibility to stay there for a value price. Just didn't know much about the resort.

We are going with no kids and are trying to keep the cost at a reasonable level. I'm also checking into renting DVC points for that time frame at one of the deluxe resorts.

Lots of options .... value or moderate with the possibility of free dining...or...buy our own food and rent points at one of the nicer resorts. Can't dedide....

Thx...Randy

Randy, sounds like the weather wasn't that great, but I am sure the company was awesome!!! What a great way to spend a day with your grandkids!!!
As for POP, we LOVED it! We were actually furthest from the main building, but very close to the parking lot...down a set of stairs and there we were. We did use the bus a few times and the nice thing about their bus is, it's a dedicated route. There's no stopping off at another resort or water park....just a direct route. There was all 4 of us in the room and we were not crowded. We got on a fridge swap, so we got one to use for the week for free. That is a bonus to staying DVC, Mod or DLX, you get the fridge included, but with the swap, it worked out great. there are a limited number of King rooms available and that might work to your advantage. If they are the same size room as 2 doubles, you'd have more floor space. The food court was good...but I have never complained about any Disney meal I have had. I have to admit, we are not that picky. Anything else you want to know, just ask!! We were going to stay there again in June, but then opted for The Beach Club with the 4/3 deal!!

Kristin, I love roasting a whole chicken. I got one of those beer can chicken roaster thingies and I love to bake it that way. So moist and tender! Where do the girls want to eat tomorrow? Sounds like a fun day!

Steve's on his way....better start dinner!

Michele,

thanks for the response. Just can't decide!!! I like the look of the Beach Club. That is the resort we are looking into for the renting points option. Someone on the rent board is going to check availibility tomorrow and let us know. Looks like around 1250 for 7 nights at Beach Club, not too bad!

If I knew for sure that Disney was going to do the free dining in late August, I think we would take that with the value or mod resort and skip the Beach Club. But, Disney won't annouce their plans until early April...UGH!!! Decisions, decisions!!!

glad you had a great time even if it did rain...that's not fun for the little ones when they get cold!
maybe one day we'll make it over there...it would be so much fun!

Hey Randy,

Bruce and I stayed our very first time that we went to WDW together. It was very nice we stayed at All Star Sports..

I think it all depends upon what your looking for... Do you want the fridge, kitchen washer machine?
How much time do you think your going to spend in your room too. With Candy's ankle you may spend some more time in the room and in turn may want the bigger room like a DVC room.......

I would wait and see till early April and see if the free dining offer comes out!!!!!!!!!!

Randy, I would have to agree. I would wait and see if they offer any fall specials. With the economy the way it is, I can't imagine that they won't offer something. The kids will be heading back to school and travel will be down.

we just finished watching Madagascar 2 and now we are watching the penguin special DVD, THEN we'll have cake!

Instead of falling asleep here at the kitchen table, I am going to go up to bed! LOL I am beat and Connor just went up without being told! I think we have just been so busy this week, it's catching up with us! Going to watch the 10pm news in bed...and I might not make it!

Disney Dreams!! :cloud9:

RISE AND SHINE PARROTHEADS!! :goodvibes

Nothing planned for today....just going to 11am service, then hanging out here. The boys don't have school tomorrow being as it's President's Day! I heard the teachers have to show up though.

As Eyeore says, "Looks like rain." but it could be snow!

Whatever you do today....
