Okay, I am ready! :::::BIG HUGE SIGH::::: He should be here any minute. Wish us luck and say a prayer! This re-fi would really help a lot! To the tune of $800 a month!!!!!! That's exactly what I was making babysitting. I would just feel so much better if we got this!

Holy smokes, that is HUGE savings. If it helps, the decor of your house, outdated and what not, really does not affect your value. It's more the condition and the amenities that matter. Total overhauls, new kitchen etc, of course help, but I don't think it's going to be an issue from what I have seen of your house in pictures.

Ugh. Now that the appraiser is coming today, I am a bit "panic-y". There are a few things that we probably should have done before he comes, but this all happened so quickly, I am not sure what we would have been able to accomplish anyway. Now I am thinking that our house is outdated and that will cost us. I hope it doesn't keep us from finishing the refinancing though. Wish us luck!

That is too funny (and not at the same time)! Our appraiser is also coming today. What a co-inkkeydink!!! We feel your pain!!! We have been busy so far today trying to do that last minute "tidy-up" you were talking about.

We applied about a month ago and they are finally getting the appraisal done. Sheesh!!!

Only a couple hundred dollars a month savings for us. But we go to a 20 year loan. So when we need to move in 8 years (retiring) we should have about $80,000 more in equity.

Randy, how did the appraisal go? With our mortage, we have paid 10 years already, but with re-fi we extended it to 30, BUT we are going to use the extra cash to pay off debt, then push that cash into the mortgage. If all goes according to plan, we'll have all our debt and the house paid in full in 10 years time. Essentially, dropping another 10 years from the original mortgage!

Erika, you are very sweet. Thank you! He was in and out of each room pretty quickly, I was surprised. I kinda thought he would be looking under sinks for water damage or in the attic or where ever, but he didn't! I guess with a refinance they figure you are planning on staying put for a while.

Connor wasn't so thrilled with track tonight. He said that throwing shot put was boring. He said he's going to try discus tomorrow and if that's not better, he wants to see if he can try something else. If only she hadn't ordered the uniforms yet. I think he would have quit already!

I have wrapped myself in my electric throw and sort of have a headache. Is it time for bed yet?

I think the appraisal went ok. He was only here about 15 minutes, very quick. I told him off the record what our loan amount was and therefore how much we needed the appraisal to come back as. He didn't seem shocked, so I think we'll be ok. (fingers crossed)

We watched all three hours...ugh!!! And we'll probably watch another hour tonight. I don't know what to think about it, what did you think about it?

Connor enjoyed track SO miuch more tonight! He said, "We worked out more and I'm sore and tired, and I like it!" He certainly didn't get that from ME! LOL He said he is going to stay with the shot and discus.

I am heading to bed...after I get the rest of his track clothes in the dryer. Here we go again with the washing everyday! I even got him 2 sets of workout clothes!

Update on our re-fi...

Good news, bad news...Our lender will go to 80% of our home value. Problem is that the appraisal came in alot lower than we anticipated. Soooo, we can re-fi the 1st mortgage but couldn't quite get all of the 2nd. The appraisal needed to come in about 12,000 higher than it did. Close but no cigar! Oh well, we're thankful to get what we can.

Randy, I am so sorry you are not able to re-fi! This is my fear too! I think we are in the same situation. It would be nice to do it, save some money and work towards paying that mortgage off quicker, but if we can't re-fi, we won't lose the house over it. I have not heard from anyone. I wonder if no news is good news??

Going to have lunch with my friend. Connor and her Christopher went to preschool together and we have not really seen each other in the last few years. we are going to be at Disney at the same time and doing the grand gathering for dinner one night. I can't wait to sit and chat with her again!!!

Good Evening everyone!

Still trying to find a hotel near Orlando for the first night we are there. I think I might have found one. It's a Red Roof in Kissimmee. Just $40 a night. The reviews that are older make me want to run, but those that are within the last year, are decent. I know the RRI's were renovating all their hotels, so maybe this one is done too. I'll have to show it to Steve and see what he thinks. I think it's just funny that you read reviews and one person RAVES about how WONDERFUl this place is and gives it 5 stars, then the next person says RUN as FAST as you can and gives it 1 star! Did they stay at the same place? Of course people do the same thing with restaurants. One person loves it, the next says it's gross.

Worked a bit this morning, then met my friend for lunch. Only wish we would have had more time. It just goes too fast and we had a lot of catching up to do! Got home in time to throw some meatballs and sauce in the crockpot, ran to get Connor from Track, then took both boys to the dentist, home to finish making dinner and clean up. Now I am tired and ready for bed!
