Disney Magic July 13, 2012 2 Night

I've been hearing that it gets a bit chilly at night, you might want to bring a heavier wrap than a sweater/shawl.
The gratuities are posted to your on board account- if your opinion differs you'd need to go to Guest Services to change the amount.
Depending on how many guests are seated with you at dinner and how fast they're eating, you might miss part of the fireworks. The servers like to deliver each course when the table is ready for it.

We had second seating on a couple of our cruises, and it seemed like we weren't getting away from the table until after 10.15 or so.

HTH!!

The weather in NYC has been in the 90's and at night in the 80's.
I suppose out on the ocean it probably be cooler.
The coldest place on these ships tend to be the restaurants or the theatres.
Our last cruise on the Dream, my DD mentioned that the ship seemed to have increased the ambient temperature a bit warmer than prior years.
I found a regular zip up sweater (not Fleece) was adequate for our last 2 Dream cruises in April and June,
Although we have been known in the past to take a spare blanket from the cabin and use it when watching a movie.

Does any one know if they are selling duty free alcohol on board during these 2 night cruises to no where ? pirate:
I'm planning to stock up alittle for our August DCL cruise.

It is cooler at sea at night because there is nothing out there to retain and radiate heat once the sun goes down. I also noted on our Dream cruise that they were keeping things a tad warmer on the ship, but by no means uncomfortable. I found my wrap to be plenty in the restaurants and theaters.

I see you signed up for the lanyards - they are printed and ready to go See Ya On Board!!

Got my docs!!! :banana::banana::banana:

SO happy to see them!! Love the luggage tags....not that we need them, but they will look good in the scrapbook!!! ;)

I'd love to figure out how to get the lanyards, but I don't do paypal :confused3

I think I can find your email to do my Lanyard Team contribution....but how much are you requesting/recommending for this cruise.....

See you soon!

Thanks for all the info! One more question....I pulled out our birth certificates and mine is the old card type (not the long form) but it does have a seal on it. Would that be ok for this trip? (no passports but we were told we didn't need them for this cruise). It doesn't specify in the cruise documents.

Thanks

You could ask those who already sailed this cruise on June 15 on their meets thread. I don't know how far from land we sail. Usually once we leave a port, the stores all open but I've never done a cruise to nowhere.

I can't imagine that it wouldn't be!!!

I believe there is a way to call DCL to find out what movies will be shown during a sailing, but I do not know the number. First place to start would just be DCL customer service and I'm sure they could either tell you or connect you to someone who could.

Usually any movie that has been released in theaters will be on the ship. Sometimes even earlier on the ship. We saw Bolt on the Magic I think Wed or Thurs and it was releasing on Fri on land.

Hi All!

I forget where I found this, somewhere while searching for info on visiting the SoL, ferries, etc. I thought it would make a great magnet! I'll post in the general NYC thread too.

Enjoy! :flower3:

Well, we fly to NYC tomorrow- can't wait until Friday!
Good luck to all of our travelers, see you at the pier maybe.....:cool1:

still packing :crazy2:
Our flight is at 8:30am arriving to Newark at 1pm. Then the craziness begins. Car service to take us to our hotel in Teaneck, wait for us to check in and drop off luggage then take us to Liberty State Park so we can catch the ferry to the statue of Liberty. From there go into Manhattan to Virgil's for dinner and then Lion King at 8pm. Gonna have to carry our change of clothes in a tote bag. Also going to go to the Disney Store sometime either before or after the show. Then to Port Authority Bus Terminal to catch the bus back to the hotel. At least the bus stops in front of the hotel.
Next morning take the same bus back to Manhattan and then onto the ship. Would like to get to the port around 10:30am.

Safe travels to everyone. Can't wait. :cool1:

I finished packing everything except my kindle and phone 1am.
Finished my NYC magnets today.
Going to work soon at 5pm so that I'm off tomorrow at 7am.
Get home, drive the dogs up to Ossining , go pick up my mum in Yonkers. Come home shower dress and get cab to port. Hope to reach there by 11am.

I haven't even started packing yet... It shouldn't be too difficult to throw my stuff in my case. I live on Long Island, and I'll be taking the railroad into Penn Station then hopping in a cab to the port. I hope to be there around 11ish as well. My magnets have been done for a whole now. I cannot wait to get onboard!!

We are coming in by train as well from Union Station in DC...how much is a cab from the station to the port? I didn't do any NYC magnets....
I didn't even think of them! :confused3
