Disney Magic July 13, 2012 2 Night

Got my docs!!! :banana::banana::banana:

SO happy to see them!! Love the luggage tags....not that we need them, but they will look good in the scrapbook!!! ;)

I'd love to figure out how to get the lanyards, but I don't do paypal :confused3

Go to post #97, click on the google document, add your names, and meet Michael during sailaway to pick up your nametags.

Got my luggage tags and documents. Even with my last minute sign up, they still came in a timely fashion.
I'm so glad we managed to squeeze onto this ship.
Only travelling with a roll on and bag.

Can't wait. :cool1:

My DD11 and DS8 will be with us!
Hello! I booked this cruise somewhat last minute (in April) to belatedly celebrate my husbands' 50th birthday (finances were too uncertain, last year). Our 7 y/o son is looking forward to his first-ever Disney experience. He sailed with us on RCL Explorer, then Oasis of the Seas, and loved the children's programs on each ship. He is looking forward to seeing how Oceaneers Club/Lab compare, and to meeting new some new BFFs!

:welcome::welcome: Glad you are able to join us! I've heard the kids clubs are great! I'm sure your son will have an awesome time!

Hello! My DS Kenny is 7! He would love to meet your 8 y/o son, if he is sailing!

Thank you! I don't know what to expect, as this is our first Disney Cruise. I'm hoping it is ok. We booked a Cat 5B stateroom, I think on Deck 6? We have only sailed in OV staterooms on RCL (too fearful of having a Verandah with our son, but feeling safer, now that he is older).

Does anyone know about a "graduation" ceremony for the Oceaneers program? Not sure if it will happen on this short jaunt.

For those wondering about the rotational dining and stuff, here is information I just read:

Just got off the Disney Magic New York City inaugural 2 night weekend getaway.
On this 2 night cruise, we rotated through all THREE main dining rooms: dinner, dinner, and debarkation breakfast.

Menu was the same for ALL restaurants at the same time: let the magic begin, til we meet again, and the welcome home breakfast menus.

Pirate night with fireworks was on our first night.

Animators palate on our experience did not have the gradual transformation, but did have the finale animation clips show.

The first night show was Villians Tonight and the second night was Dreams.

Said there was tons of stuff in the Navigators to do. Didn't mention about future cruise booking desk.

Do know that they had a DVC member celebration on embarkation day at 2:30 p.m.

I'll post more info as I find out stuff

Thanks. Looking forward to more info.

Brenda

Here is some info I found today:

"Another thing I found to be important. If you plan to book a future cruise get to the desk when you first get there or early on the first night. I noticed the next day the lines were long. There was no one else there but me and I was in and out. I saw others wasting the precious little time we had onboard waiting in the long line the second day.

Also I noticed the guest service line on the second night was also really long. I'm not sure why since tips are now prepaid."

This person also mentioned that the Onboard booking offer is now $200 for onboard credit. She didn't mention whether the 10% discount still applies.

Thanks for the updates!

I sooo need a cruise right now. :cloud9: We just got back from a 3.5 hr drive each way to drop off ds12 at his 1st time ever at sleep away camp. :sad1: He was so excited & chomping at the bit to run. We're exhausted now but I'm so looking forward to some special one on one time with him soon. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

I haven't been here for a while because I was out of town last week in S. California (I got to visit Disneyland, but sadly missed the opening of CarsLand by 2 days!). It's nice to see the group so active!

I am getting really excited that the cruise is just 3 weeks away! I am hoping to get my husband & daughters hooked on cruising so that this is the first of many! I have cruised with my husband before, and he has enjoyed it, but has never really fallen in love with it - and this will be the first time for my girls ages 11 & 14.

I did sign up for the lanyards (thank you so much - they look awesome!) but somehow I have missed the paypal link to help defray the costs. What a great idea! Also, a nice way to have us connect on such a short trip.

Yay!

Kira

Hi All,

DH and I will be sailing the 2 nighter for my 40th B-Day Weekend! . Leaving kids at home. This will also be our 1st sailing as Gold CC Members!. We have Palo booked for Brunch on Saturday.

See ya Real soon :0

H! There....this cruise is my 40th birthday treat as well!! I will have my DH along with DD and DS....and I can't wait!

:yay::yay: someone else we will know. Are you going to stay pre or post cruise?

Totally missed your posts on this thread! Just jumped in this past weekend. Still finalizing NY plans

My sister lives in NYC so we will go up on Thursday afternoon and see her and her hubby for dinner, then stay somewhere (don't know where yet!). After the cruise we will be scooting away quickly, that day we drop the kiddos off for summer camp :)

Hello Everyone!

It looks like we are all sailing in July together. We are a group of 13. We consist of three brothers :dance3: and their families. :grouphug:

My name is Kim and my DH is Dave, he is the middle brother. We have a DD (17) and a DS (15). This will be our 8th Disney cruise.

The oldest brother is Ed and his wife is Mary. They have three children, a DD (17), another DD (15) and a DS (13). They have sailed twice before with DCL.

The youngest brother is Steve and his wife is Darlene. They have two DD ages 11 & 9. They are new to cruising and we are hoping to get them hooked on Disney Cruising.

I have signed up for the lanyard and would like to contribute to offset the cost. However, I am just not sure how to do that. I have to try and figure out how to access his PayPal site. Any directions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have Couples Massage scheduled for Saturday, July 14 at 3:15 that I will be cancelling. If someone would like to PM me I would be happy to coordinate a time that I can cancel in hopes that you can snag it up.

Less than a month to go. Woohoo!!! :woohoo:

How fun to have such a big family group going on the cruise!! FUN!

Well I just spent this week changing everything around!! Found out Michael's camp had been changed from July 21st to July 14th in Rainey Mountain Georgia. So, now we're not staying the night post cruise. Changed SWA flights to leave the day we disembark and fly to Atlanta instead of Tampa-was not an even exchange with points an incremental 5000 miles for each person!! Thank goodness I was able to exchange the Lion King tixs to Thursday nite for a $30 fee, cancelled dinner at Melvins that night.Just has been crazy, so now we don't know if we have time to head to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. We land at 1pm Thursday.

When we land in Atlanta, pick up the rental car and drive another 2 1/2 hrs to Michael's camp. The camp officially starts Monday morning. His troop was going to Stone Mountain the day before to do some hiking and other fun stuff. So he will miss that. Will be staying in hotel after we drop him off and drive back to Florida the next morning. The things we do for our kids!!

Are you doing Palo's on this trip? Since we booked last minute I wasn't able to snag anything. I think we're going to try to snag a brunch when we get on board.

Yikes....and I thought my drive to Pennsylvania to drop the kids off when we disembark was crazy, but I'm a little tired just hearing about your journey. No Palo for us this time.....but I would like to do the lunch if we can when we get onboard. If not, it will be no big deal, I'm just looking forward to chillin!
