Disney Magic January 27, 2014

Hi all -

I currently have a Palo Brunch reservation for 11:30 on our sea day. I am hoping that when I get on board that I will be able to change it to 10:30, so if anyone has been unable to book a brunch don't give up hope - you might be able to take my cancelled 11:30.

I am staying at WDW one day/night prior to cruise date, and will probably book private transport from Port Orleans to the cruise ship terminal. If anyone is interested in sharing my ride let me know - I hate the thought of taking DCL transportation and not getting on the ship til afternoon!

How many people are in your group heading to the cruise ship? And what time do you plan to book your transport for? I was going to book private transport as well for the same reasons as you. My family has 4 people and we need a carseat and a booster for the 2 kids. We will be leaving from Art of Animation and our boarding time is 11:30am I believe.

Well, a friend has been going back and forth trying to decide whether or not to join me. So there is definitely one, and possibly two of us traveling. I have used private transport from WDW to the cruise terminal on other occasions with my large extended family group, including kids, and it's a very nice way to travel!

Both car services I've used have had car seats and booster seats - you just have to specify in advance.

My port arrival time is 11, so will book transport for 9:45 or so..... Would that be too much time hanging around the terminal for your family?

Sorry it took so long to respond. I've been looking into different options. My kids are young so adding to the waiting time will definitely be a factor. We still aren't quite sure what we're doing and it's just been a busy week to try to figure it all out. Don't wait for us, but if what we end up planning could possibly add on one or two more people, I'll let you know!

I have a question about Nassau,
I had my honeymoon there back in 2000 and don't care much for any of the excursions. My question is, how close is the ship docked to Atlantis? We would like to show our 2 boys (8&11) the area and knowing it is a safe tourist area to look around. Just don't want to be wandering around other areas with 2 small children.

Hello fellow Canadian :hippie:

We will be joining you all from the freezing cold Southern Ontario, Canada.

We are Seasoned cruisers...have sailed many lines, many many times... (Not so many times with Disney though)

We will have 3 in our travel party. Myself , DH & our DS-13 (turns 14 in April).

I won't list our Cabin # as its not wise to advertise that you have small children in your room.

We are deck 7.
Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.
We may have a FE, not positive yet.

Any other families with kids around my sons age? He's always excited to meet new friends and keeps in touch with many of the ones he's met from previous cruises!

Hello everyone! We decided yesterday to join this sailing. We were suppose to have a December trip but had to cancel it. So I was super excited when the VGT rates came out. We're excited to see the changes to the Magic.

It will be me, Lauren
DH, James
DD (4) Lorelei
DS (1) Jameson

I'm hoping we get lucky and get assigned a category 4 since it seems like the ship is pretty empty so far. We're doing WDW before and after the cruise.

This is our first disney cruise :) we are so exited and would love to join in the fe fun. It will be my husband Kyle myself Andrea and our 6 year old son Ian. I'm not sure what our room # is yet. How do we know how many gifts to bring? Sorry I'm new to this :) Andrea

Quick questions, has anyone received any documents yet. I have done the online check in, but was hoping I will receive something before Christmas. (surprising my 4 year old son for Christmas). Also any idea what I could do to surprise him with it.

Annmorr - if you cancel your 11:30 Palo Brunch can you email first - would love to get a brunch reservation (all sold out )

Thanks

48 more day :dance3:

If you don't get a brunch reservation pre-cruise, you can go to a designated location on day we board to get a reservation. If all bunch slots are reserved, ask to be put on a wait list.

Hey everyone!!! I hope it's not too late to join the party. We just booked yesterday.

We are going to be at WDW in Jan 19th - 28th and I saw the email from DCL on the last minute rates. Looked at my wife and said if I can change the airline tickets for under $200 we are going.... it was $105 so 30 minutes later I am watching all the videos on the new Magic. This will be our 3rd DCL Cruise.

Myself
DW
DS 2
DD .333333 (4 months at sailing)

Let me know if I can join the FE list. We are GTY so no room yet. I am checking daily.

Also, we are driving to the port morning of from WDW in a Tahoe/Suburban.

Welcome!!! Glad you were able to take advantage of the reduced rates.

I made little books for my boys to open at Christmas (along with a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and a pirate costume for pirate night). To make the book I just copied and pasted pictures into Word and made descriptions of what will happen on our trip and then printed it out.

So something like:

We will leave very early in the morning to go to the airport (picture of the airport).

We will get on an airplane and fly to Florida (picture of an airplane)

We will be staying on a huge ship called the Disney Magic (picture of the ship)

I included pictures of Magic Kingdom (we are going there for one day first), the kids clubs, the staterooms, Castaway Cay, Pirate Night, restaurants, fireworks etc.

I know the boys will love to read them in the month we will have to wait before leaving and it will prepare them a bit for what to expect when we get there!

So do you mind if I join up on the FE list? I know I'm jumping on late so I didn't want to assume.

:)

I just switched my 11:30 a.m. brunch time to 10:00 a.m., so there is availability at 11:30 now... in fact when I went in to look at the available times there were a few different options open. Good Luck!
