Disney junks junk

1. I really support that! Healthy eating is very important.
BUT
2. NOT WITHOUT MY COOKIES or BROWNIES! :worried:
3. I really really hope that there are more healthy main dishes and less fattily french fries with whatever, but they couldn't or shouldn't take away the sweets, they are so important for my holiday mood!
4. And i really hope that the healthy stuff is not even more expensive than the food is now. in general!

and for all your fast food lovers: Don't panic! I think there is no way they can banish McDonalds from the village!!! ;)

I do agree more fruit and veg needs to be offered as my kids got rather bunged up on holiday without their daily fresh fruit. But it should be as well as the rest of the meal. You could have the choice of a brownie or a bag of fruit if that is the case. DLRP is shocking for not having any fruit stalls like Port Adventura as my kids ate loads of fruit from their stalls for only 2€ a tub and the tubs were pretty big.

I think this is another case of the world going mad just to be politically correct.

If you cant let your kids have chips and fizzy drinks on holiday then when can you. I am lucky as my DD8 eats most fruits and veg so it wont affect our trip.

I endorse having a healthier option but OPTION it should be. :furious:

its the same with our 8 year old, she usually goes for the more healthy option but I think she should have the choice on her hols.
I'm all for the healthy menu in schools and more fruit and veg on the menu's at disney but not happy with them scrapping it altogether! :sad2:

When we ate at TS in July we thought the menu was fine for children, there was an option to have veg instead of chips with food such as grilled chicken.

I think adding more healthy options is a good idea however I hope they don't remove the treats from the menus. after all, we are on a holiday that we paid for.

I am wondering if I will be able to get my dd a Disney advent calander this year with chocolates in. :sad2:

Can i just ask- are they doing the same for the adult menus? I miss fruit when i'm at disney :guilty:

@wideeyes

I agree with the options possibility. though i have to say (again - i know) that i'm afraid that such a meal might become more expensive. :guilty:

@grovee

Don't they have fruit salad at the breakfast buffet? I thought there was kind of. But i only vaguely remember that. But yep there should be some more fruit things in the parks also.

I guess if they let you choose between fries and carrot stick, soda and water...
Then, why not? People who wants healthy food can order it, people that doesn't have the choice of it...
I usually eat pretty healthy at home, and completely the other way at Disney parks, because I know it's holiday and it won't last forever, and everything is so tempting :love: ...

oh they had better keep the pan Au chocolate and chocolate waffles at breakfast. I look forward to them, and dd loves the pan cakes. (she also has a bowl of fruit salad too.)

Its all about choice really,everyone should have a choice,although i think disney should look at banning smoking at the parks before they say that the kids cant have a coke and some fries

Smoking is being banned from sometime next year I believe.

They are only taking the junk food out of the kid's meals so they can be seen to encourage healthy eating amongst chidlren. The choice to buy all the junk food will still be there- just not as a neat little package. I have no kids but I agree with any steps taken towards improving children's diets in what is becoming a far more inactive society. I wish they'd add more veg to the normal menus too, places like Blue Lagoon do ok but most are just grown up fast food options.

My dd has never had a hamburger or fizzy drink in her life even at Disney.
We have never had a problem feeding her at Disney however we don't tend to eat at the fast food places.
She looks forward to her dessert.
One of the great things about Disneyland is that when you ask for an orange juice that is what you get, in England we usually end up with cordial which dd does not drink.

My daughter doesn't eat anything very sweet so dessert isn't gonna be a treat for her, lemonade however is something she looks forward to when we are away, i persume kids desserts are classed as junk food too, all the sugar and colours are bad for them, rot there teeth and make them hyper :banana:
Thing is we all know this and while at disney I wouldn't overdose her on rubbish but I think I should have the option of treating her if I wish.
I bet the prices of kids food rockets as well :furious:

I must say I am really impressed by this change. I also hope they offer more fruit for adults too !ie as part of the menu pluto. We tend to eat Table service as I am not a fan of fast food so this change really appeals to me. I'm sure they will still sell cookies etc and ice creams in the other shops so there will still be the opportunity for treats just not with dinner. :thumbsup2
