I've been searching the internet for some alternate family vacations. I figured since every thing is so high maybe it was time to cut back.
Jeez,
In Ocean city Maryland 1 week at a average oceanfront hotel during July and August seems to be running any where between $1800-2000 bucks.
Virginia Beach. same deal. and if you think Disney's deluxes are not really deluxes, these hotels aren't even moderates. This is just for the room, no food, no attractions nada...
Disney ain't looking so bad.

and appreciate the value of a Disney vacation.
Add in meals and activities, etc - would have cost me more than the 3 night trip we are taking to WDW, and wouldn't have been as much fun! Granted - Disney can be expensive, but when you break it down like this, it dosen't seem so bad - and heck, is A LOT more fun!
Mind you, we are not beach people.
Anyway, by the time we paid for hotel and the eating out and then our son got addicted to all day mini golf hopping, it probably cost us more for the MB vacation than if we had just gone to WDW. WDW might have been cheaper...lol. WHOOOPIE! We spent a week in a hotel on the beach and never touched foot on the beach. We stayed in a crummy hotel and spent each day playing mini golf. Would have been more fun at WDW.
