Disney is cancelling my FP on MVMCP day?

but now that the word is out, and the backlog is at 4, why not make it 5 or 6? heck even the "official" stuff is subject to change with no notice at anytime...all I'm saying is I won't count on 4 pm entry forever. It made sense when people trickled in...now that the gates are full at 3:45? and I imagine some day guests are complaining now that it is obvious party goers are getting 3 "free" hours at their expense (more crowded park, less fast passes available).

spend money for a longer period of time? why not let the party people in at noon then? The advantage I imagine would be Disney "encouraging" people to have a day ticket AND a party ticket if they're worried. (won't surprise me if that happens either). How many people here do you see say that they plan to enter at 3 on a day/AP before the 4pm crowd now? And how many people add on dessert parties to the party ticket because they are worried about room to view?

Anyway, back to topic, I really am curious if this is an MDE glitch (likely) or the end of Party ticket only Fast Pass+?
We went to a MNSSHP back in October 2006 and the word was out back then (yikes 9 years!) that you could enter at 4pm.

Quite a few years ago they used to close the MK to all at 6 pm and then open for party guests at 7 pm.

And there is probably a reason that they don't do it that way anymore. The system works pretty well these days.

Yes, they open at 4 so there isn't a huge backed-up line at 7. Party time is precious to the guests, plus it makes it logistically easier for the CMs. Plus, letting party goers in early just enables them to spend money for a longer period of time. There's really no drawback!
I kinda liked the old method... clear the park at 6, re-open at 7 just for party ticket holders. That way, you KNEW everyone there had paid for the privilege.

Well, actually, when I went to the MVMCP in 1998 I know they did it that way (except the party ran from 8:00-1:00), but I know that I was in the park prior to the party starting and I didn't have to leave and re-enter; instead we were "corralled" in Tomorrowland if I remember correctly.

I dunno. I was there this past October for a 4PM entry and while there was a decent sized line for the tap points on the party side, I'd hardly call it full. It really is a small percentage of the overall party guests who arrive that early. It's really no different than rope drop. Even if the gates look crowded, that is a very small portion of the guests who will actually be at the park that day. Now, if every guest attending the party had to line up all at once, at 7 PM, that would be a mob scene (imagine if every day guest all arrived at the exact same time and had to wait to be let in all at once). I am sure they have studied this and determined that this is a good way of handling the issue.

That's not to say that it would never change in the future, but there is really no pressing reasons for it.

Yep I was there on a Sold Out day (10-27) and it was busy but not park opening crazy. In fact they let us in at 3:45. HAHA 15 extra shopping minutes. I'd be doubtful that they would ever stop early entry. Too much stuff starts right at 7:00 for the party.

Watching this, interesting. Still considering whether or not to get MVMCP tickets and if so, FP possibilities

I wouldn't go just for the FP but it was really nice to have those three FP on a day when I didn't use a regular ticket. Just a heads up. Most party attendees (at least the regulars here and the locals who attend often) know this is possible at this point. I actually did the midnight FP run AND did this day before any others. The FP in this time block (3:30-6:30) are in demand so don't wait to do them last. As the party got closer (MNSSHP) people started posting about it being hard to work the times or get some of the more coveted rides. Not crazy hard to do but I did my 7DMT on that space so wanted to make sure I could get it.

I'm guessing it's a glitch as I can't imagine they would not allow FP from 4-7 for party goers. I asked the CM when I booked MNSSHP if I could book FP for that 3 hour window and she said yes. I ended up making one for 3:20-4:20 then the second for 4:25-5:25 and the last was 5:30-6:30. That was just 3 weeks ago and I had no trouble using them.

I hope they don't cancel them on you OP.

I agree. We entered our party day at about 5:30 and there was a steady steam of people (90% in costume) so not everyone arrives at 7 and I think this way is preferrable to letting 40,000 people in all at once.

And this is why I don't go to the parties anymore! I really miss the days when they cleared the park of day guests and it really felt like an exclusive event. Now it just feels like I'm paying for two admissions and not getting a lot of extra value in return. I would happily forego the ability to make FP+ if they would go back to clearing the day guests out of the park first.

I called and specifically asked about this. Was told by a CM that I can link the Party Ticket ( MVMCP) to my daughters MDE (she's over 18) and make 3 FP , 30 days out for between 4 and 7. If we were to link the party ticket to my MDE ( where our MB , ADRS and hotel is) we would be limited to the 3 we already have.

While true, what you're describing is completely different situation than the OP's.
She has since found the unique problem (-glitch-) and it has been corrected.
