Disney is cancelling my FP on MVMCP day?

For what its worth, for the past two years with a MNSSHP ticket I was able to book FPs that started before 4 PM so that I only had about 20 minutes or so to get to them once we were let in. This could be a change in policy.

I might have solved the problem. I actually had the same email for each day, which I didn't notice before.

I had some issues with MDE a day or two ago, which somehow resulted in my having two MDE accounts. They said they moved everything over, but I think there are still issues. On hold again!

Hmmm. I will be interested to see if this becomes the norm. I have a 3-4 pm FP booked for our party day because MDE wouldn't give me any choices past 6 pm. I would hate to lose all of them because of that one.

I thought that with only the party ticket you can only schedule fastpasses after 7?

There are no fastpasses after 7:00. The last fastpass on a party day is 5:30-6:30. You can book fastpasses for before 7:00 since the party ticket will get you into the park at 4:00.

Come to think of it, they cancelled my FP's for my party night as well. I have party tickets but no regular ticket for that day. I didn't think much of it until now.

There are no FPs available during party hours. Basically, the system just sees the party ticket as a regular ticket, so that for instance if you have a five day ticket and a party ticket, you can book 6 days worth of FPs. You can even use your party ticket to book FPs before 4, but the problem there is that you wouldn't be able to get in before 4.

They very well could be changing policy/closing this loophole. The party doesn't officially start until 7:00, and there are no FPs available during the party. Even though they let party ticket holders in starting at 4:00, technically if you only have a party ticket for that day you would not be entitled to FPs because there are no FPs during the party. If that makes sense.

Stinks for those who already planned to have those 4:00-7:00 FP+ but I would not be surprised if they are in the process of updating the MDE system to not allow FP+ booking with just a party ticket.

I don't see it as a loophole because you are allowed to enter with a party ticket at 4:00 and FP is available during regular park hours.

Just got off the phone with tech support, and I think my issues yesterday resulted in a "dummy" MDE account which have my hotel reservations, but nothing else. I think they sent the cancellation emails (one for each day) to the "dummy." They looked a few different ways and assure me that all of my FastPasses are still linked and valid. I have the CM's name though, just in case everything gets wiped out tomorrow!

even entering at 4 is a loophole really, yes they allow it and yes there are reasons for it, but in the past it seemed people dribbled in un noticeablly, at the gate on our party day this year it looked like rope drop! I won't be surprised if the "unofficial" 4 pm entry time changes sometime too. There's a reason tickets/cm/advertisements have always stated the 7pm time...

Hope it all got straightened out!

Please keep us updated...I hope it's some kind of glitch!!

Guess we posted at the same time....thanks for the update

Can you imagine the back-up if party goers had to wait until 7 to enter? By allowing them to enter at 4, they have 3 hours to enter and not miss any party activities

Yes, they open at 4 so there isn't a huge backed-up line at 7. Party time is precious to the guests, plus it makes it logistically easier for the CMs. Plus, letting party goers in early just enables them to spend money for a longer period of time. There's really no drawback!

We had no issues with either tickets or FP+ for MVMCP. We went to the party on Tuesday evening (11/10/15). For our vacation, we had 3 day PH passes and MVMCP tickets linked to my MDE account. We did NOT go to MK during the day on Tuesday; the party was our "MK day." We got to the party about 3:45 and the entrance area was pretty packed; they were letting folks in. We had paper tickets (emailed tickets printed at home) and got pulled to the "line on the left" where they wand-scanned our paper tickets with no problems. My FP+ were 3:25-4:25 for Peter Pan, 4:30-5:30 for BTMRR, and 5:30-6:30 for Winnie the Pooh. We used all 3 easily, and also rode Splash Mountain (20 min. standby) between BTMRR and Pooh. I was very apprehensive about all this working out, but it went smoothly. We got a LOT done, but we don't do Character Meets. Oh yes, we also saw parts of the Festival of Fantasy parade, because on that day the 3pm parade was at 5pm! :rotfl2:

but now that the word is out, and the backlog is at 4, why not make it 5 or 6? heck even the "official" stuff is subject to change with no notice at anytime...all I'm saying is I won't count on 4 pm entry forever. It made sense when people trickled in...now that the gates are full at 3:45? and I imagine some day guests are complaining now that it is obvious party goers are getting 3 "free" hours at their expense (more crowded park, less fast passes available).

spend money for a longer period of time? why not let the party people in at noon then? The advantage I imagine would be Disney "encouraging" people to have a day ticket AND a party ticket if they're worried. (won't surprise me if that happens either). How many people here do you see say that they plan to enter at 3 on a day/AP before the 4pm crowd now? And how many people add on dessert parties to the party ticket because they are worried about room to view?

Anyway, back to topic, I really am curious if this is an MDE glitch (likely) or the end of Party ticket only Fast Pass+?

I dunno. I was there this past October for a 4PM entry and while there was a decent sized line for the tap points on the party side, I'd hardly call it full. It really is a small percentage of the overall party guests who arrive that early. It's really no different than rope drop. Even if the gates look crowded, that is a very small portion of the guests who will actually be at the park that day. Now, if every guest attending the party had to line up all at once, at 7 PM, that would be a mob scene (imagine if every day guest all arrived at the exact same time and had to wait to be let in all at once). I am sure they have studied this and determined that this is a good way of handling the issue.

That's not to say that it would never change in the future, but there is really no pressing reasons for it.
