Disney is a Hot Mess right now

It all boils down to personal preference. One person or group of person’s Disney experience is NEVER the same. Not everyone wants to get up and glow at Riviera. Not everyone wants to go to EVERY park in one day or otherwise. It’s only worth it if you truly enjoy.

Revenue for Disney’s domestic parks was up 6% to $5.86 billion. I read elsewhere that attendance was down 1%, so it would seem to me that they have found a perfect balance of visitor count vs. profitability.

And they are working on multiple park expansions, that will boost attendance in coming years.

The parks are more expensive, which is pricing out some people and creating sticker shock in others, but the business strategy looks solid now.

The value is certainly diminishing. I am taking a break from the parks for a few years and hoping to return once a major part of this current construction is done

Planning a Disney cruise for next year and maybe a couple of resort days before that. Maybe, by 2028 I might return for a bit? Hopefully there will be more to offer for the money by then. Who really knows?

Agree that it’s very individualized. We live in Tampa and we’ve been pass holders for the past twenty or so years. Didn’t renew last year and will be using some ancient, undated, tickets for our upcoming annual December visit, staying at the Swan. We find less value in our trips lately, (diminishing quality of food at Disney restaurants, increasing cost of everything, seemingly increased capacities at the parks making it less pleasant to just walk around the parks, and need for so much planning for our trips (ADRs, LLMP, etc.) and, for the first time, we will not be planning a December trip there next year. For those that continue to love and enjoy it, I’m delighted for you. Hope our upcoming trip will alter our perspective. We’re in an older demographic (70’s-80’s), with some mobility limitations, so our energy levels are also diminished.
