Hey folks - no sure where this ought to go on the DIS so I put it here. Looks like I might be able to go and experience the training put on by the Disney Institute. I'm a United Methodist Minister and think that there is no one who does quality customer service the way Disney does. I think the church could learn alot about what we should be doing from those who do it best! I'd love to go to all 4 training events, but with cost I think only one will be in order. Has anyone ever been to these sessions? If so, which one do you think is best? Are they as good as I think they will be? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks & God Bless!
Mark

This really isn't theme parks, so I'll put it on the Community Board. Maybe someone over there will have more answers for you! :)

I have not had any experience, Mark, but did want to take a moment and welcome you to the DIS. I have heard great things over the years about DIT, and looking at Let's Make a Difference sure looks like it will do you, or anybody well. Again, welcome. :wave2:

Dan Murphy, Thanks, I searched for this info a few monthes back for DH & couldn't find it. You are just a bank of knowledge. ::yes::

Thanks Dan - I wasn't sure exactly where to put it and I figured that if it wasn't where it needed to be it would get moved. I've been to the web sites of both companies that do the training. Info sounds great - just wondered if anyone else has been. Thanks for your help!

God bless!

A friend took the training and raves about it. He's really glad he took the class.

They offer it from time to time at a local Jr. college.

I was lucky enought to attend the classes when they were taught at the now gone DIsney Institute. (People Management, Quality Service. Operational Excellence, and Leadership Excellence, and Customer Loyalty) All of them were very top notch. The Walt Disney COmpany has a different approach to how they run their business and I learned a lot of things which I was able to use in my career as a manager at AT&T. Yes, they were very expensive (between 3400 and 4200) but worth it, IMHO.

ETA - I took all of the classes they are offereing today. They don't do Oerations any longer, but it was also a very good one. It really doesn't matter what you do, these classes will help you!
