Disney inspired nails for vacation

Hi all...I just posted this on another thread that is of the same topic. I am a nail tech for the last 19 years. If you are going to do your own nail art it should be applied so that it is displayed to those that are looking at your nails, not displayed to face you. It will look more professional this way. Also, get a corrector pen to remove the polish that is on the skin around the nails. You can use a Qtip and a little bit of remover but the corrector pens work much better. One more tip, make sure to apply your polish well. Use a good base coat and top coat.

Happy decorating !!!! ;)

Thanks for the tip. I cant wait to paint my nails, However I am having a had time finding those pens

I picked up a couple at Kmart but they only had a couple left.

Then I saw them in Walmart a few days later. They had a bunch of them.

I'm having trouble getting the black one to stay black though. It seems to fade to gray when it dries. Then I have to go back over it. Anyone else have that problem?

ETA: I just realized that you are talking about the corrector pens. I was talking about the Sally Hansen Nail Art pens. Sorry! I don't know who sells the corrector pens!

This thread is so cool. I am not going to be going to wdw any time soon but I love getting cool ideas of how to paint my nails when I do go and maybe for fun now.

Try someplace like a Sally Beauty Supply. Some salons will sell them as well. I would imagine that you could also find them in some drug stores.

The corrector pens are just a pen that looks like a marker that it filled with polish remover. They do dry out so look for one that you can remove the back end to refill otherwise just dip the tip into remover when you need to use it.

Too make it simple you can paint the nail tip orange for a bill and the top white with some eyes or put a cap and some eyes....j

oooh - that's a good place to start, thanks! Hmmm...I might try a cute fluffy duck-butt. :lmao:

I use paint the ones that come in the little pots. First I do base coat with polish let it dry then do designs with paint that way if I make a mistake I can wipe it off & not mess up my base coat. Then when done do 2 coats of top coat.

Rats that means mine are wrong...lol.

As with everything else...do what makes you happy!! If it brings a smile to your face everythime you look down and see Mickey looking back at you, leave them "backwards"! The PP just stated that it looks like a professional did them if they are facing away from you, so f that is important to you, next time, switch them around.

Not sure if this link has been posted, but here are some cute ideas: click on the Mickey nails for step-by-step directions to other characters!!

Sally Hansen also makes a corrector pen that I love! I like it better than my Sally Beauty corrector. I got mine at Target -- they also have the polish pens. :)

I'm going to have my nails done before we leave and thought it might be nice to have them Disney "inspired". I was thinking something like red with white polka dots for Minnie, (or just one or two with dots) or SOMETHING. I really don't have much of an imagination...lol...and I don't really wear red nail polish, but I figured SOMEONE here might have some ideas or examples of what you do to your nails on vacation.

I realize this may be a little "out there"...but I don't care...lol.

let's see if I can figure out how to upload a photo nope can't figure it out

Tattoo thread hmm I'll have to go find that one.

Thanks I love my tattoos. They both just turned 1 (July and August)

I did Minnie inspired nails. I painted my nails red, then when they dried, I took a toothpick and dipped it in white nail polish. I made little dots on my nail. It actually came out pretty cute! I'll post pictures later.

Ladybugsy, your nails are so pretty! That is just my style.

I have added "Disney Nails" to my list of things to do for our next trip. I think that will make a nice pre-trip activity for my DD9 and I to do together....Disney Mani-Pedi Day!!!

Well, mine are pretty plain, but I was bored today. I will probably change them 10 times before we leave for Disney...lol. But here's the picture. (I hope it's not too big! )

Since I can't put nail polish to save my life I get them done but I tell them what to do.

That year I had yellowish/orange on half of the nails and then red on the other half. Then they airbrushed Mickey in the middle. Nothing special LOL

These are inspiring! I go in a couple of weeks for my Disney manicure/pedicure. I cannot decide if I want the Minnie french one or just plain light pink with a black Mickey on my thumb and ring finger. Any opinions??
