Disney in the Summer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've always gone to Disney in mid-May or Oct. This time, because of school schedules, we're going in June. Having lived in Central FL, I know we'll prob have an afternoon shower most of our days there.

We usually take an afternoon break at the hotel pool since one of my dd's thinks she is a fish  , but since it will prob be raining, what do you suggest for hotel down time that's still restful? Or would you just stay in the parks and go to the shows since most are inside and some people will leave because of the rain?

It usually only rains for 15-30 minutes at about 3-4pm. If your DD really likes swimming I would just take your break and when it begins to rain go inside and get ready to go out to the park for the evening. You might want to bring along a board game the whole family can enjoy.

We've gone in summer many times, and so far, we've never run into those 15 minutes quick showers - we always get at least a few hours of the wet stuff - including lightning and thunder - so just prepare yourself for that possibility. :)

Now, that doesn't mean the world comes to an end - we generally enjoy heading back to the room, getting changed, maybe catching a little TV and resting up for a fun filled evening. Or else we head to the hotel food court, grab a snack and people watch, maybe browse the gift shop.

It's actually nice - it's forced relaxation. :)
