A story on this on Bloomberg this morning said basically the same thing and that there is to be a meeting on January 23rd to either make a deal or no deal. I think it would be a wise move for Disney. (As long as they don't try to change Pixar after the purchase, something Eisner would have done.)

I am not so sure it would be a good thing if it is effectively the end of Pixar.

In the last years, all the Pixar stuff was WAY better than the Disney productions, by far!!!!

I hope it goes through but with basically the same structure as they have now with Pixar handling all the creative aspects and Disney handling the Distribution/Marketing/product tie ins. I believe the quality and creativity will be better that way. Luckily Iger seems to realize how important a relationship with Pixar is since Eisner chose to alienate them.

i agree... they should both stick with what they're good at... and the disney & pixar productions were just too brilliant to not have anymore! hopefully this'll will go well!
